1939 baines whirlwind
Its now complete.
I will probs get a load of abuse but hey ! Here goes.
All new quality parts if I had opted for original ones they would have cost a fortune and frankly I wouldn't have picked most of them out of a skip lol.
The "extra" bits of the frame where added umpteen years ago and although not standard have been done very well .
The serial number dates the frame to 1939.
It was originally a fixie.

Interesting to say the very least... Deserves a sympathetic compliment of parts that look more period correct, methinks. Lots of potential there!

Cool frame. Presuming that's a replacement fork, do you still have the original fork? I know original parts would be extremely hard to source, but that's still not how I would have chosen to set it up.

I guess it's most important if you like it.
Fixed gear doesn't have up be deep v's and bullhorns though, I thought that had gone out of vogue at this point anyways.

Wow. I'm kinda ashamed to admit it, but I don't hate it nearly as much as I thought I would. With those components, the frame looks positively modern.
But it also looks like it's too big for you... though I think I know someone whom it would fit nicely.

Given that it is near impossable for for anyone that is not a serious collecter with a serious collector budget to finish it period correct.
How can 70s-80s bits be more approperate than 90s-10s bits on a 1939 frame?
I'm sure I would have done it with different bits but I would have used what I had and / or what I like that I could get on the cheap.
