1973 Paramount
Newest project, 1973 Schwinn Paramount, recently aquired from fellow member Chi-James. Will be adding some Campagnolo Pista cranks and Nitto b123 Cro-Mo bars shortly.

1973 was a good year

This thread needs vintage track bike ACTION shots! I can't date any of these bikes exactly, but they're being ridden on Herne Hill Velodrome (London Olympic venue, 1948) in the '80s, so they're at least that old.
A Chas Roberts and a Ron Cooper (with my brother on it) in a Madison change, 1985(?). I don't know what the other guy's riding:
ME on a Geoffrey Butler, picking up the dubious title of "Schoolboy of the Year", 1988. Cycling Weekly spelt my name wrong! (Check out the Adidas leather cycling shoes...)

...A close-up on the Roberts, which has been looked after well enough to be ridden on the same track (two resurfaces later) rather recently. I'd forgotten about the pantographed stem.. Nice touch!

My bikes became Vintage
This is my 1967 Jeunet (going by the date code of the saddle, but I could be wrong). I drilled the fork and added the front brake to make it a legal rider. Some might consider that sacrilege, but it's just a cheap French gas pipe bike.

Having finally arrived at a satisfying identification of my track bike, I spray bombed it last week. I have been collecting parts that would look right on a 60's English track bike, and I actually bought the correct replacement decals from HLloyd, but since I did a half-a$$ed paint job I couldn't face putting expensive decals on it... so I printed these up on the laser printer at work. After I sell some extra bikes I plan to have this one properly painted.
It wouldn't be a proper tarck bike without a gaudy anodized aluminum part, right?
By my kitchen scale, this crank weighs about the same as a Suntour Superbe crank. Kroozer had my old Williams crank arms rechromed in Mexico:

I'm not sure we should really call this a track bike. Back in the 30's when this bike was made, all 'racing bikes' were track bikes, so any wannabe racer who wanted a bike would get something more or less like a track bike. This is an entry level bike from a well known maker of track bikes. But whether it is a track bike, or whether you would prefer to regard it a "track bike shaped object, " here are some photos of my 1936 "Alvin," made by Alvin Drysdale's Velox Cycle Co of New York City.

Finished the Ron Stout 401 last weekend
Needs a more proper chain and cog, but close enough for now.

Not sure if it's kosher to sneak in a neo-retro frame, but it's all I got in track and seeing as nobody can stop me.... This is a custom 2006 Waterford RS-22 fixed frame w/Sachs Newvex lugs, stainless steel up front, and stainless drops. Structurally a reverent tribute to Paramounts. The pix don't really show the candy metalflake purple paint well, it is hypnotically sparkly in real life. Got it complete, built for road riding, smooth as buttah:

Fun, practical all season rider you have there.
I am doing a similar build for a friend right now on an All City Big Block.
Mostly DA, but I am using 105/Archetypes from Velomine.
Rounding it out with Challenge Strada Biancas.
Your Waterford is a full step up though.
