+1

I need to clean up the wires. I installed them in a hurry but haven't gone back to do a better job yet.

Yeah, those bars are pretty wide, but with those long unflanged grips I can move my hands inboard to a natural position. The bigger problem is I'm pretty cramped, because the top tube is very short on that bike and the stem is not long enough to compensate. Also, I can't lower that stem any further in that short steerer tube. Handling is goofy if I ride with my hands on the ends of the bars. I moved my saddle back a bit into a more roadie position, which helps somewhat. Anyways, it's fine for roller riding.

Thanks, man. Well see if I can pull it off. I've got the whole winter to adjust to it. Believe me, it's not easy. I'm doing crazy stretches almost daily.

The goal is to get to something similar to this:

Even though it's not too hard to get that low, it's hard to be efficient and effective pedaling from that position.

Even if I miss the goal, I'll be further than I am now. Every little bit helps. Even the kind words that you guys give me

Wow.

There is a difference between riding 100 miles on this bike and riding a few miles on this bike and it feeling like you rode 100. I would imagine that it's the latter that is happening.

Looks cool, though. But the fact that the saddle is tilted down shows that he's simply leaning forward, not bending at the hip. This is like a physical therapist asking a patient to touch the ground without bending at the knee and the person bending over then falling forward on his hands.

Just browsing when I saw this post. I'm confused on where he said he rides 100+ miles a week on this frame? It says the frame was totaled in a car accident and after he was all healed up he was back to riding 100+ miles a week.

Maybe he's referring to doing hundreds of miles on different bikes?

Anyway, if you get that position down pat, maybe you can give amateur Muay Thai a try too. I feel like if you develop serious pedaling power in that position, you could deliver some mean knees to someone's head in the clinch.

I'm a lover, not a fighter.

But, you are right, it takes some strong hip flexors to do both.

Crappy Blackberry pic incomming...

My new Hour.... Bought it in October so I went with orange/black.

Keeping it cheep since its just a beater/commuter. Charge Bucket because the stock seat was a real ass-hammer. New tape because I wiped out learning to ride it(first FG/bike period since I was like 13) and chewed up the original stuff pretty good.

Its not much, but its mine.

**EDIT** Thinking about painting my fork or rims orange to match my saddle/grips. What say you guys?

I told him (pursuit guy) that if it's only a small dent in the top tube and a bent fork a builder could probably repair it. He responded -

yea dude, idk if i liked that frame enough. it was really small and hard to skid on and gave me lower back problems. hahahaha.

I didn't quite realize how versatile the word "dude" was until reading those comments. It pretty much works for anything.

I think that's a terrible idea. If you want more orange, just get orange tires.

Straps are the next upgrade. I'm new to foot-retention and since the stock ones arent rigid at all, its a huge pain in the ass to get my 2nd foot in sometimes. Part of that's practice but the other is my craptastic straps/pedals.

It was posted in the pr0n thread at sffixed with some controversy. I can't but agree with TT, however. I feel it is pretty pr0n-y.
