Need Stem Help

I have 2 folders, one (Dahon) with a clamp on style stem that has a 25-30 degree angle to make it nearly perpendicular with the ground.
The second is an old cheapie (Citizen Folder) that has a 22.2mm quill stem that has zero bend in it so it moves the handlebars close to the rider (upright cycling only).

Where can I find a quill stem with the 25-30 degree angle?
What is the angle called? (like angle of incidence, or stem deflection angle)

and finally
Are there any NON folding stem solutions?
I ride the folders because the fit is better for me and the folding stems invariably add some amount of wiggle or movement in the folding mechanism.
I would like to try a non folding stem on either bike.

I appreciate the help on the rather obscure request

There are definitely plenty of 22.2mm quill stems out there that don't have any folding mechanism. The problem is that they usually are pretty short. For a high-rise, you could find a Nitto Dirt Drop MT-10 stem, which is going to be about the longest out there. If you want more reach, you could get a Technomic, which would be the same length out of the steerer tube but greater reach to move your bars farther forward. One thing you could try is a quill to threadless adapter which will allow you to stick any number of 1 1/8" threadless stems on your quill adapter. I ride this way on my 1983 Univega, as the quill diameter is 21.1mm, the old BMX size. I have an adapter in there and atop it sits a Redshift ShockStop stem. It's really ugly but it works great.

Thought of the quill to threadless but I need that 25-30 degree bend to open up the cockpit.

So get a threadless riser stem and pop it on top of your adapter. You can find many 1 1/8" threadless mountain bike stems from the 90s - 00s in lengths from 80mm - 150mm and with up to about a 30 deg. rise. I think I have three of them in my basement and regularly swap around to really figure the right fit when I change a handlebar or saddle.

Folding bicycle stems are around 350mm
150mm isn't going to cut it.

I'm meaning the reach of the stem. You can get or make a long rise stem adapter then stick your threadless stem on it.

Yes. Provided the OP doesn't the the folding function, he could do this with recumbent steering parts such as:

Pictures of your bikes would have helped to better answer your questions.

Gotchya fam:

Not MY exact bikes, but they are generally the same.
See how the Citizen (bottom) has a high rise stem that is directly in line with the steering tube?
Thus 0 degree bend and smaller cockpit and upright seating only

The Dahon Mariner (top) the high rise stem bends to vertical.
Thus 25-30 degree bend and a more spacious cockpit allowing a more aggressive riding position.

So I'm looking for a high rise stem that will fit a 22.2 mm quill stem fork with a 25-30 degree bend to make the high rise stem at or near vertical for a more spacious cockpit and more aggressive riding position on the Citizen bike.

If there is a non folding solution, that would be even better but at this point, it's optional.

So, 22.2 mm quill stem, 25-30 degree bend to near vertical, 350mm or something close, even telescoping.

That is what I am looking for.

The clamp on 'modern' Dahon/Fnhon-standard ste- er handleposts measures to be 1&1/8" internal diameter. Might you try a 1&1/8" threadless quill adaptor and see if the handlepost from your Dahon will fit it? If so, just get another of these handlepost to use with your Citizen. These handleposts are everywhere in all a large variety of lengths.

Will something like this work for your Dahon? It’ll allow you to have the ability to move the bar more forward. Or, have you considered a different handlebar design?

Let me re-phrase and build upon my previous post: See if the bottom end of your Dahon's handlepost will fit on a 1&1/8" threadless quill adaptor (use an adaptor that doesn't require a top cap, like this one). If it fits, that is a solution. If the bottom opening in the handlepost is just a little too small (like 1mm or less), do the following:
1. Install the quill adaptor onto the bicycle.
2. Unscrew the bolt at the bottom of the Dahon handlepost until you can fit a coin in the slot.
3. Slip a coin in the slot, so that the bolt can't pass through.
4. Start tightening the bolt so that its tip pushes against the coin. Keep tightening until the opening is spread wider.
5. Mount the handlepost on the adaptor.
6. Remove the coin and tighten the bolt, so that it re-engages the threads and then continue until properly tight,

It might, but it'll look terrible.

At this point I'm trying to find a 22.2mm quill stem with a 25-30 degree bend but no one photographs their parts from the angle.

Sheldon Brown or John Allen used a handlebar as a stem of a Raleigh Twenty, cut off the bar at the 1" swell for the bar clamp, then stuck a threadless stem on it.
In a nutshell, you find out where you want your hands to be then figure out how to put them there. Plenty of parts exist to make this happen.

I waited to see a few more details and read the lot a few time. So, the Citizen has a slack headset/steerer angle and the stem is straight making it less roomy compared to the Dahon.
Most of modern stems clamp on a 31.8 tube so this maybe limiting, I did not pick up the diameter of the telescopic tube on the citizen unless it is what is referred as "22.2 mm quill stem".

The other issue I can see is the fork steerer diameter, what is it and how the steerer and handle post mounted together? if the fork diameter is adequate (same as Dahon), you could fit a FnHon or Dahon or litepro handle post (Aliexpress)

if the steerer is not good, you may have to swap fork headset and handle post which is not cost effective.

You could look for things like this but,the issue remain the telescopic tube diameter
