Just getting into bikes from an inline skate background

Hi, I'm Carlyle. I used to do a lot of speed skating on inline skates long ago. Top speed 32MPH and 26 miles top distance. I used to do a 14 mile round trip daily. Any, I recently started biking as a train "shuttle" for my commute. Got me an old Schwin which has done the job but I get sweaty for work on hot days so I looked into electric bikes. I tried out some bikes in Hollywood and liked the idea. Fell in love and now I just got a Spicy Curry from Yuba. It's an electric cargo bike. Once I got into it I really started getting excited about the potential of what this bike meant. It could take my biking experience to new horizons. So then I started thinking about pushing the limits of distance and speeds and there is where my thirst for adventure came in.

So I run a few YouTube channels and I thought I'd create a bunch of series to share my new passion. I want to do travel adventures as well as use the bike to even create some of my content by doing things like using it as a camera bike. I flew out to NYC and I want to ride from NYC to CT and also Long Island and also do a 5 borough tour.

I welcome you to follow my adventure but I joined this forum because I really have no idea what I'm doing really. I used to do distance trips on skates in early 2000s. That is long ago. I have NEVER gone any distance on bikes. Maybe 6-7 miles tops. I hoping to get suggestions and advice from true bicyclists that know much more than I do. Maybe avoid things like Google map pitfalls! I also want to get some equipment for the bike like horn and lights. Anyway. That is my story! Really excited about this new adventure!

BTW, the bike is a throttle assist only bike. All it basically does is delete any hills IF you so choose. However...the more it helps you, the faster battery dies, so to travel the distance I'll have to put in a lot of work for sure!

Read thru the Commuter forum about how to deal with sweaty commutes and cleaning up once you get to work.

First of all, I am really too sorry to reply to an outdated thread. I just wanna ask that how you prepare yourself for this long Distance skating? Can you share the details of the gear that you use during this time? I am also doing inline skating and want to learn more things.
Thank You

I doubt that you will get a response as the OP hasn't logged onto the forum in 6 years.
