My weather app lied 🤣🤣🤣

Did a wonderful 55 mile loop with the wife today not far out of Reno. My weather app said there would be a high of 51, didn’t even get to the mid 40’s and then only briefly.
No matter, a day cycling with my girl beats anything. ( even if I am freezing) 🤣🤣🤣

We've had a few days like that here this week. And yesterday we saw a couple of intrepid riders. We admired their courage, but had no thought of joining the madness.

Why would the app be any better then an actual weather guesser?

You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.*

At least you are out riding.

I so far, have just sat here at the keyboard on days that don't get above 55°F. But now winter temps seem to have finally set in, so I'm going to have to find out how well those long legged bibs will keep me warm. Maybe I should get a cycling jacket too! At least I have long fingered gloves. I wore them once last year.

We took the group out on Sunday. Forecast was 36 and foggy, warming to 41 and sunny by noon. We left the parking lot at 11:20. At the end of our 4 hour ride, my Garmin said 75% of the time it was 32, with a little 34 and 36 here and there. The sun never burned through the fog.. The good part was that the fog wasn't right down on the ground. There was a good 100' of clear air over the ground all the way. 42 miles, 2250 climbing. and a WTF, our tandem got 4 Strava PRs on a long hard twisty climb which we haven't done in years. I guess we weren't over heated or maybe we finally have low enough gears. We were comfortably warm on the climbs and a bit chilly on the descents and flats. Dry roads the whole way.

You have a lot more snow over there than we do here in Reno. only in the shaded areas is there any snow left. actually not bad considering that happened just after Christmas.

It's incredible that one has to go to college to be a meteorologist. Might as well just use one of those old magic 8 balls.

This year the weather channel app on my iPad is all over the place. I just step outside and look! If it feels cold I put an extra layer on . We really don’t have to worry about rain too much down here in SoCal but the nasty Santa Ana winds can come up without much notice. They blow out of the east and can mean a brutal ride home for me unless I call my wife to bring the truck! “Ain’t too proud to beg”
