Is this true? BOTTO's been BANNED?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Is this true? BOTTO's been BANNED?

What happened? Is this real? Is it permanent? I mean, I know he was a little abrasive but he was everybody's favorite grouch... Well, I guess not everybody's. But what finally did it?

[Moderator Note from cuda2k]

(DrPete, hope you don't mind me taking over your original post a bit, but thought it a good idea to post this at the start of the thread as well as on page 8)

Wow, a 8 page thread about Botto. Not sure if any of the other mods have replied to this one yet, but I'll mention that he hasn't been perma-banned and will be back. Hopefully with a better understanding of when to back off a little and how much is too much. I'll admit his posts are sometimes a good read, and his photoshops are classic. But we have community guidelines that everyone has to follow, even Botto.

[End Moderator Note]

No, it looks like the real deal. He can no longer be PM'd, etc.

I have one theory--perhaps, even though it was the 80's, you're never truly forgiven for dressing in purple AND having this haircut.

Maybe it was the 20 posts per day of nothing? I continue to be amazed at how many times per day some people can post here.

But at least we know someone is out there with nothing better to do than monitor the posting frequency of BF members. It makes 20 posts per day seem a lot less pathetic.

Maybe we can refer to a ban as a badge of honor. I have always said, don't wear your feelings on your sleeve. I guess someone got pissed at botto for one of his sarcastic ways of posting. I find them funny and never take offense.

But then again, I am a different person.

I myself hope it's not permanent. Bikeforums is a far less interesting place to spend time without Botto and his original give and take posts. Good thing its Spring and can start riding again.

Great.. just great. Now I won't get a Botto race report this weekend.

No race for me, and no race report.

I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

Perhaps it's fake...he made it up himself. Can't you you enter "Banned." next to your name, disable PM's, and disable the ability to allow others to send you email, all on your own?

It got pretty intresting. I also saw that he was using pics of Patriot in other threads to make sacrastic comments, classic botto.

Although at times Botto is abrasive, and sometimes just posts to increase his post count with nothing of substance to say (those usual one word replies), I already miss him.

botto's sense of humor was way too predictable. I won't miss his irreverent posts at all.

I don't see anything banable there. I have to assume the mods had there reasons.

EDIT: Maybe THIS post sheds some light.....

I like Botto. I liked Euro as well. They are heels, but constructive heels.
