Apparently, the sump on the slant goes dry in the corners. Not sure if baffles in the pan could fix the problem.

I won't knock (pun not intended) the Slant Six though. the 21k mile example I had in my '69 Valiant was the smoothest running engine I've ever known. With points.

P.S.: If the OP's derailer was a Simplex Prestige, we wouldn't be having this conversation. The plastic bag would have will gradually disintegrated for easy opening.

It’s like deja vu all over again...

I think the buyer should recognize that there is no package, and it is simple he that opens.

But what if it's vuja de, where the package has realized that it's never been opened before the buyer?

I think we need a sub-forum for questions about sellers opening packages.

If it can open a drawbridge, and it's worth $80 to the general public, slap "MIL SPEC" on it and sell it to the Army for $800.

“should”

generally accompanies a whine or an attempt to rationalize the imposition of one school of thought upon others

Should the seller open the package?

I think we've well established what the seller should do.

The buyer is an entirely different and far more complicated matter. Is he to open the package or not? I see two equal sides to this debate. Both with chilling outcomes, existentially speaking.

Apparently so. 🙄 Or at least a banner that pops up, when you attempt to start a new thread, asking if you’d like to do a search first. 🤔😁😉

I learned to drive in a ‘69 Dodge Coronet, when I was 12. 😲 That must have been a pretty good year for slant sixes. 😎

...my first car after a couple of Dodge Darts ('67, '68) was a '67 Alfa Romeo boat tail Spyder I bought when stationed in Italy.
That was when I discovered that the majority of American cars were designed to proceed in a straight line, but very quickly in a straight line.

I spy a sway bar under it that definitely isn't stock. Methinks these are much better honorable mentions:

Body roll and good handling aren't mutually exclusive! I blame BMW for initiating that fallacy. Consider for instance that this won the Rallye Monte Carlo in '63.

Racing against this.

Would love to see that on a Plymouth Satellite...

IIRC, stock front suspension would've been torsion bar, with the aft end of the bar splined into a mount welded to the sheet metal floorboard. What could go wrong?

No need to worry. The torsion bar crossbrace rusts out long before the torsion bar has any chance to impale the passengers inside. You could say the collapsing suspension in Mopars are a safety feature.

Racing against this.

Might be because the old Saab appears to have used the 2-stroke triple's smoke screen as a weapon against the opposition?

And because a softer suspension, despite body-roll, can do wonders for traction and handling over undulating surfaces.

The Saab's front wheel drive could have also been used to advantage, again whenever traction was found wanting.

Yeah, but when all is said and done it is, well, still a Saaaab.

That upside-down car; I believe I remember it. Wasn't it one of Patrick Bedard's follies? I reserve the right to be wrong on that; I am old (cue You Are Old, Father William)

Uh, automobiles are lower in the totem pole than bicycles. That's the thing - there's nowhere to to go up from the bicycle.

Except empty boxes.
