First new bike in 14 years.

Old time member and I haven’t posted since 2009. Just bought my first new bike since then. Old ride is an 08 rockhopper pro disc. I also have an old mountain cycle rumble that I never ride. Anyway today I bought a Marin team Marin 2. Super happy with the purchase but have only ridden it in the shop so far. Lol. I’d ridden a few bikes over the last 6 months in my search but this one was the one. I love the build on this bike. Not sure I’d upgrade anything other than pedals. Anyway, nearing 50 years old, I’m back.
only pic I have so far.

Link to Marin website for anyone interested in this "down country" wonder bike....

Congrats it looks like a well spec'd bike, for me it would be pedals and grips for sure but I hate round grips. I love Fox and they spec'd a fine fork but with the shiny bits the Manitou R7 Pro (with the polished aluminum crown) would have really looked killer on this. Maybe also a polished aluminum stem or bar but overall simple understated but all the right stuff or at least decent enough for a stock bike.

You should have fun on that and if you don't you can donate it to me

The only upgrade I would consider is a front wheel.

Nice bike! Didn't even know Marin made these.

Idea on grips, if you like squishy style grips, Dread Lock's are really nice!

A front wheel is a great idea! Especially since I never did master manuals.
The quick pic without wheel is a product of the life of an old daddy to a 5 year old. lol I walked in the door with new bike in hand and was accosted to play star wars, get hugs etc so took a quick pic before even bringing the wheel in. Then put it in the basement and engaged daddy mode. Unfortunately where I live we've had abut 4 feet of snow and temperatures around -30 lately so I don't expect to be out on it soon. But at least it's home and my search is over.

I would have played as Jek Porkins (Red 6) and then you would have died quickly and could go biking? Plus Jek is a hero to those of us with more to love
