Bike is about 2x overpriced at 900. I think around 400 would be right. It would sell for more than that on the bay, but not for 900; local sales are lower.
Make an offer; at 9 he's likely getting little to no interest.

Yeah, it was described as 51-52, but I'm seeing what you're seeing.

Over price your labor to match his overpriced bike, and you could do OK! I would certainly build someone a bike in return for this bike, IF they supply the frame and components (I supply consumables, cables, tires, tubes, housings, bar tape). But if you are supplying the components, forget it.
If I give him $200 and put it together, theoretically I get the bike for $400.

Yes, it's a Campy fluted seatpost, flawless above the insertion line, and the shifters are pristine. I just need Campy clamp-on's for my Campy conversion, and the seatpost is too large. I'd have to trade out parts and shipping, time, etc, so I may as well unload them here, then go buy the right stuff. What's on my bike now is passable. (I paid 50 cents for the Technomic stem I'm giving him)
Thanks
Thanks

Do you know the tubing type? A lot of later Ciocc models used Aelle.
Agree with the $400 to $500 pricing.

No, I don't know the tubing type, I did look up info on Aelle, which doesn't sound too good, but I'm an easy rider. The deal worked out with me upgrading a few of my on-hand parts on the build-out I'm doing for her (thought it was a guy with the online back and forth) and ending up with me getting her Ciocc, and $100, for the on-hand parts, and labor, to build what she wants. Fairly specific details she wanted we were able to work out. Long story short, my cost into it is $146, and 10 hours labor. A good deal for both of us.

I think the $4-500 net pricing would apply to Cioccs with at least Colombus SL tubing. Tre-tubi and Aelle frames would be more in the $3-450 price level, depending, of course on the condition of the bike.

The bike is virtually flawless, only a couple cheap nuts with rust on them. Rims need replacing because they were cheap anodized ones. Easy fix, there. It is Columbus tubing, verified that. I pick it up on Monday. I still haven't seen info (been too darn busy) on what the model is called, I've heard some people try to sell them as San Chriobels merely because they have that sticker that has the name on it, but they're WAY different bikes.

If you are getting the bike for a net price of around the $400+- amount you mentioned, I think you are still within acceptable range for what it is, especially if the bike is in great condition. Just remember to watch out for any possible hidden issues like stuck stem, seapost, bent forks or hard to see dents on the frame.....
