I have thought of this, both in terms of seeing further around the curve, and in the context of being visible earlier in the curve should someone be rounding the bend behind me. I figure the extra vision is about proportional to the extra danger, but really never figured out any valid way to measure it.

The one thing people are not considering is that someone coming the other way might also feel a little liberal in how much space they take up. Usually motorcycles since they go fast both uphill and downhill. I have actually seen it almost happen a couple of times, and there are videos on YouTube of people running off the road, laying down their bikes, and clipping each other.

Unless I can see without a doubt that there are no other vehicles around, not a chance. The penalty is too high. I also look behind me before swinging out to apex even within my lane, because it's entirely possible a quiet vehicle or other cyclist is passing me.

I didn't rule it out just for that. I said the style and content isn't the same which was pooh-poohed by claiming that he must be trying to disguise it. Now he supposedly varied it to get around being recognized, but he kept the similar name to taunt us? How does that remotely make sense?

The identity from the fellow from Qwaa was never in doubt, however, there was no pro operating there. Our cubed friend wouldn't be able to disguise his writing style.

I imagine my eyes would be bugging out like that too if I was face to face with a semi and no chance to swerve. I also imagine that my large intestine would probably also be instantly vacated.

Where does GCN film anyway.?. Always thought it was in the UK, but they're driving on the right side of the road.

It is dangerous. In law enforcement I investigated a lot of accidents involving cyclists, some required snow shovels to collect the remains of the victims.
