Thanks for the kind words benji, the paint has a weird rubbery feeling to it and unlike anything I've had before. Not sure how the paint will be a few years down the line but so far it seems to be holding up well.
I've recently bought some clincher wheels to allow me to use there bike more on the tarmac roads here in the UK and will keep the tubulars for my off road rides. The wheels are tubeless ready but I decided for this build I would fit some nice hand made Challenge Strada Bianca open tubular tyres

thisisbenji: Nice looking bike, and a nice looking trail, but that looks like a crushed limestone trail - possibly a rail trail. Gravel roads have less even surfaces. If your unpaved surfaces are actually going to be chiefly crushed limestone, then definitely you'll be happier with different tires.

Found this gem of a frame on eBay and spent the last couple of months putting it together.
Some build highlights include a mostly 5800 drivetrain, a customized vintage parts bin stem, the flashiest brakes ever, and some very fresh Hungarian paint (so much paint...).
Due to some pretty tight tire clearances, I had to use a 5700 front derailleur, which works just fine with the 5800 shifters despite the interweb's lack of confidence in this set up.

Really nice build, Justin. I'm all about that stem.

Very cool build! Those are some super premium canti brakes. Did you mill/drill the stem yourself?

Yeah, the brakes are pretty sweet. Thanks to the popularity of disc brakes, I was able to get these off eBay for real cheap.
I'm thinking I'll be able to get a 35mm in there, maybe. The tires in the photo are Vittoria XG's and measure out to 31mm. They're serving as placeholders until I can commit to a new tire.

Not only is the bike gorgeous, but the photographic technique is stunning. How do you do that?

I love the handlebar tape that looks like candy cane, and the overall color scheme seems festive to me, love it (:

Thanks! I make my living as a product photographer, and love it when I get to apply this skill towards my hobby. Descent equipment and a knack for photoshop help with the end result too.

The bar tape is Cinelli zebra stripe. Found it at Universal while picking up some other random stuff.
