there's a slight bent on the top tube near the headset. It's hard to spot most of the time, but visible under certain angles. I consulted three bike shops in my area and all of them reassured me that the bike has never seen a collision, so my hypothesis is that this must be a manufacturing defect.
Pretty frame!

Lovely bike. It would be interesting to know if your and any other curved vs. straight TT frames have the same fork trail. I am so pleasantly surprised with my 979 I am always looking at 992s. Not doubting your contention that there are other curved TT out there but in my casual looking for a frame I can not recall such and I marvel at the bonding needed at the head tube for that slight angle shift into the head tube as they just would not manufacture two sets of head tube angles.

You want to see lots of "curved" aluminum frame tubes from the factory..... just check out most Cannondale frames from the mid 80's.
they have "unintentional", slightly curved main tubes caused by heat treating. Just put a straight edge against them and you will see the curvature.
Still remember helping my brother find a Black Lightning frameset with the least curved tubes. We had to dig through a bunch of frames at our local Cannondale dealership, before we found one with the least amount of curved frame tubes. The Cannondale dealer stated that this condition was normal with Cannondale framesets, and guaranteed that frame alignment should be good, despite the curved tubes. My brother never noticed any problems riding the frame.
I wonder if similar happened to Vitus aluminum frame tubes?......

Excellent point, If you held a straight edge to the DT right up to the head tube casting and it show straight that might indicate to me this was like the early Cannondale issues. I can not picture a front end crash that could curve the TT that much w/o some clear defection on the DT.

Howdy folks!
This beautiful frame is still for sale. I'm trying one last time before posting it on the Bay. New price is 600$ shipped anywhere in Canada and the US.
