East Coast air quality impacted by western U.S. wildfires
I live in Rhode Island, and today there was an article in the local newspaper warning about the local air being affected by the wildfires out west. It said that people with respiratory afflictions should say inside with a/c, and that strenuous exercise should be done with caution. Just wondering how others out there have altered their outdoor activity because of this. Up to this point, I haven’t really noticed it while exercising. But I will say that it has caused some spectacular, interesting, and unique sunsets.

Out here, we had a really bad year last year. I was wearing my COVID mask all day and washing the smoke out of it every night.
But so far this year we've had blue skies. Send all the smoke EAST

Yeah, it's affected Texas too. Ozone and pollution warnings almost every day recently. I've been taking it very easy, jogging rather than running, walking rather than jogging, going easier than usual on the bike. It's not as bad at night so I've done some night rides lately. Those were fine.

I ride earlier in the day , try to finish well before noon. On the bad days I wear a mask. Get a better mask rated to help stop allergens. On the really bad days I just stay inside. If you have asthma or other breathing problems be very careful. You can down load apps tour phone that track air quality in your location.

Maybe this explains why I have had to use so much albuterol. I am usually good this time of year but not this year.

Lots of near surface smoke in the upper midwest, as well (from https://hwp-viz.gsd.esrl.noaa.gov/smoke/#)
