A fantastic looking 1986 Miyata 1000

Came across this photo on Flickr and despite all M1000's looking great, this one is a cut above! Thought I'd share.

The caption says "lots of Dura ace, Nitto, Maxi Car hubs! Custom Porteur rack made by my friend John of cro-moly tubing. 2 tone paint/powder by Class Act in Portland, OR

If I were to put the effort and money into a project like this I never imagine I would choose black as the color. But when I look at this it makes me think otherwise.

I've rarely seen rear racks slanted like that, I wonder what the benefit is.
