Fastab Track Bike?
I recently came in possession of a Fastab track bike I believe to be from the 70's. It's super light, just under 18 pounds, steel frame, TA cranks, Fiamme stem, Ruban Bleu tubulars. Of course looking for a price but also any new information would certainly be appreciated!
The only info I've been able to find on Fastab was here in these forums. Essentially Fastab was a custom frame and bicycle company run by a man named Tom Boyden in Garland Texas in the 70's.

You obviously found my previous post on Fastab. Given the fact that you could purchase Fastabs in a semi-finished state with the filing, painting and decal application being performed by the owner, the finish workmanship and consequent value could be all over the map.

18 lbs. is not that light for a track bike, by the appearance of the fork blades it is probably a Sprint bike with heavier tubing, at least the forks. My similar sized track bike for the period is 18lbs+/- depending on the wheels but it has steel bar and stem, heavier cranks and Columbus PS tubing.

I bought a Fastab 10-speed in 1973 by mail. It came with Phil Wood hubs, which were pretty new, I believe. I still have the bike, though I haven't ridden it for years. I think it cost me $325 (a fortune for a 16-year old at the time). I think I still have the correspondence back and forth with the company at the time.

Very cool. I don't have any info to help you out, in fact this is the first I've heard of the brand. Thanks for sharing the photo, and congratulations on the acquisition!

Fastab was an early mailorder brand, $325 for a custom back then was a deal.

I bought a Fastab tandem in about 1979. They were built by Tom Boyden n Garland, TX I chose him because he would sell it as an unfinished frame. I purchased some rifler files, sand paper and emery cloth and finished the frame myself. Used a couple large rattle cans for the paint and it came out looking real good. Sold it many years ago.
