First Moulton

Yesterday I was in Portapedal for the first time in maybe 2 years. I just stopped in to say hello as I know Al and Donna for years. Let me say they have a lot of bikes some not posted on their website. I was getting ready to leave when I noticed Al's Moulton for sale at $1,500. I had riden this bike years ago as it was used as a demo from time to time. I never could justify spending $3,500 or so for a new one as most of my riding is mountain biking. I rode it about 50 feet and knew I had to buy it. The bike was just fully serviced with new bushings and the front piston greased. I figured I'd never see anything close to a Moulton in this condition at this price again. I gave him my 2 speed Brompton Titanium in Desert Sand to sell. It was a great bike for the past 5 years or so that I had it but something had to go. The Moulton presents a little problem for traveling as it takes up a lot more space inside the car but the ride is worth the hassle. It's a 10 speed Deore with Tiagra brakes. The wheels were custom built with Schwalbe Durano plus tires. Al never sells used bikes without making sure they are in perfect condition. Next week they will fully service my Brompton before it is put out for sale. I noticed a Tern BYB in the corner that I was told that they are unable to sell for reasons that I forgot. I have to go back next week to bring in my original Brompton pedals as I took off my MKS pedals for the Moulton. I'm going to ask to ride the BYB. That has got to be the smallest 20 inch wheels folding bike on the market. I bearly noticed it in the corner against the wall. I will say this if your in the market for a 20 inch folding bike you will not find a smaller fold.

...BYB. That has got to be the smallest 20-inch wheels folding bike on the market.
Perhaps on the US market, not the world market.
