differences in gore tex? like paclite and gore active?

I bought a light gore tex shakedry 7 mesh jacket for warmer rain riding and its great. but I did not think it would work on my daily commute riding I would worry if it would hold up. plus it may not be large enough for my winter clothes under it.
I was going to get more commuter friendly jacket from 7 mesh out of gore active. I found last years model for 210 verses 370 for this year. but it was like two sizes smaller then this years. I found a nice jacket out of packlite from REI on clearance for 150 with side vents and a hood and 20.00 gift card. I wonder how breathability is between the two? mostly I will wear it hen it is below 50 degrees
