Cream Tires in 700 x 32C ?

Yes, yet another "cream tire" thread, but please help me out here: Are there any cream tires out there in 700C x 32mm? I see that Vittoria and Pasela come in 28mm, but I can find nothing in 32mm. I would really like some on a custom mixte I am building up, but do not want to go narrower than 32mm. Please help a cream tire addict!

Sorry I'm no help, but Schwalbe makes its cruiser tire in 35 mm in cream, with or without the reflective strip.

I love those and have them on 2 of my bikes, but 35mm is too wide for the clearance I have to work with, given that I'll be installing fenders. 32mm is my ideal size.

If you mean the Vittoria Zaffiro Pro when you mentioned a cream Vittoria, they're definitely not cream. They're bright white.

I was talking about the Vittoria Randonneurs. They are also white, but I have seen them in person and they "turn cream" when they get dirty. If they came in 32mm I'd take them.

BTW, I also have the white Grand Bois Hetres (apropos your name) on one of my bikes, and they look cream as well.

Perhaps the 35mm Delta Cruisers measure a bit narrower when in use? I have found it pretty common for mfg.'s listed width to be narrower once measured, but I don't know how accurate those Schwalbe folks are.

My digital calipers tell me that the old Specialized Nimbus 700 X 38s I have mounted on Sun CR18s are actually only 32.125 millimeters wide. They do it intentionally. Someone shopping for tires online would think they were incredibly light for 38mm tires.

Wow. That just goes to show that the rim width is a huge factor in effective tire width. I have a Specialized Nimbus 700 x 28 mounted on an Alex X Rim (622x20) that measures ~30.4mm @ 80psi.

The 700c x 28mm cream Pasela TG is the best I can find. What rims will you be using? What brand/size fenders?

May not currently exist...you might have to settle for a 28 or 35mm tyre in lieu of the elusive 32mm.

absolutely. the wider the beadwidth, the wider the widest point of the tire will be, but it's not 1:1 linear.

Hmm, thanks Neal. If that is possible, that would be great. I think the frame and fork will allow for 34mm clearance, just barely.

FWIW, i just measured my pasela TG 700 x 28c, with 90lb of pressure, and the diameter varies between 27.5-28.0mm. so, they seem pretty true to their stated size. if their sizing remains true with their 32c version, then you should be in luck. but in my experience, you should strive for a minimum of 2mm lateral clearance on either side of the tire, since tires are never perfectly round and have bulges, etc. also, as wheels go slightly out of true, you want that comfort margin.

i don't have delta cruisers in 700 x 35c to follow up with neal's comment, but i have the roadster-sized 635-40 delta cruisers in cream (as you have, velouria) and they measure a true 40.0mm with 50 lb of pressure.

Except that I've only seen the creme/white Pasela TG offered in 23mm and 28mm witdths.

If it were me, I'd give the 28mm creme/white Pasela a try and see how it fits your wheels. As southpawboston pointed out, if you allowed for 2mm on each side, that would leave you 30mm for tires. Another mm per side couldn't hurt.

ah, yes, i forgot that the 32c version isn't offered in cream. still, if the maximum clearance is 34mm with fenders, then 28 is definitely the widest i'd risk... 3mm on either side is still a rather narrow clearance.

Especially if you're wanting to fender it. I went with 27X32's on my Fuji, but found that there was literally 1mm between the bottom of the fender and top of the wheel under the fork crown. I went with 28's, and don't notice much difference in ride quality, but a LOT of difference in spacing.

Sorry - by "34mm with fenders" I meant that it will fit 34mm tires and fenders.

I've spoken to a couple of people who own Delta Cruisers in 700Cx35mm and decided to go for them - together with Honjo "Le Paon" fenders. Fingers crossed!

I think if there's no dairy content, the FDA says you can't spell it "cream," so try "creme."

good luck

it was your blog review of the Deltas on your roadster that finally pushed me into buying a set - I absolutely love them on my Raleigh (700x35), and hope they work for your ride

What makes you so sure there is no dairy content? Are you saying they make them out of soy now?

Crème 700x 32c Tires

There are two suppliers of crème 700 x 32c bike tires. These are Tannus and Kenda. The former is a foam filled airless tire which solves the puncture issue, however is tricky to fit and compromised bike handling somewhat based on my experience. The Kenda Kwest K193 is a pneumatic equivalent and I have one on my front wheel with the Tannus on the rear. Crème tyres are very hard to source and you will have to scour the internet to get them. My Kenda was despatched from New England to my sisters house in Chicago. From there she shipped it to me in Scotland. If you live outside USA this might be a step too far as it cost plenty in shipping charges.

Search walmart.com website, they have in stock what you require within the USA sold through a third party retailer. Kenda Kwest crème tire.

Paselas most certainly do come in 32c. I am not riding 32s now but have in the past (as well as all the other sizes, every 2 or 3mm from 23c to 38c). I would be very surprised if QBP, the distributor every shop has quick access to, doesn't have them on hand.n A quick Duck-Duck of 32c pasela got me a bunch of hits including several solid outfits and lots of choices.
