How OLD is this Brodie Dynamo ?

How OLD is this Brodie Dynamo ?
I hope someone can tell me.
The Brodie website has very limited archives.
The frame is made of 7005 aluminum, not the 6061 stuff, and the front forks have brackets for disc brakes... and also for cantilever (or V-brake)

If you come up empty here, you might ask in the MTB forum.

It's a fairly modern model, after Paul sold the company.

The website shows that 2013 and 2012 used the 7005 aluminum, but both years there was a pronounced curve to the top tube which the example here doesn't seem to share. Perhaps it is pre-2012 then?

Thanks to all who chimed in.
Definitely pre-2012.....
The seller indicated that he thought the bike was from circa 1990 --- a claim I seriously doubt, but going through the examples of Brodie frames and bikes I have found on the internet, I cannot find another Brodie bike like it.

Curiouser and curiouser...

Looking at the listing
the Alivio derailleur looks like M410 that was introduced in 2006
it has Hayes mechanical disc brakes. Hayes disk brakes were introduced in 1999.

2006-2012

No, not even close to 1990. The last model actually built locally was the ExPresso in 1994. You have a mass-produced-in-Asia model.

Thanks.
I hope so.....
I have too many older bikes from the 1990s and earlier.

It is frame set from the late 90's with slightly more modern components circa 2010 or so.

Paul continued building Sovereign frames for custom orders up till almost 2000 I think... but the demand dropped to one or two frames a year before he packed it in.

Anyway, this is 100% not a collectible handbuilt Brodie from that era.

That's true, he's still actively building to this day. But the rights to his name-branded bikes were sold a long time ago.

The Nexave crank arms are marked "BD"... indicating a manufacture date of 2003....

An email to Brodie Cycles in Vancouver got no response.

Glad you reached out to them at least. Many don't bother to even try and I've always had pretty good success in getting in touch with folks through their sites. You might phone them if they have a working number.

Thanks to all who replied. I heard back from a chap on the Brodie forum (Facebook maybe ) who says it is the 2004 Dynamo model.

The bike is in amazingly good condition, all original, and since I found it at a yard sale for less than the cost of a case of domestic beer, and the frame is a good fit, I am absolutely delighted with it. Another favourite bike.

Bink.
