Forty-three and a half beautiful miles today. Mid-60's temps and full sun. Did the ride completely around Merrymeeting Bay. Wildflowers everywhere and a fox even ran across the street in front of me on the return leg. The tubular tires have been working out. Traffic was light and I benefited from a rest day yesterday, so I got it into a gallop at several sections.

Last of the mild autumn weather, was 21 degrees C today, very warm for this time of the year.
Supposed to be very cold next week with snow on the mountains and foothills so thought I'd better get a ride in. Out to Pleasant Point and return, easy 45km.
Opihi river bridge, most leaves are gone....

Been exploring different ways to get to some of my favorite roads/trails. Today, I gave up on the constant construction on N 185th to get to my favorite road (NE Perkins Way). So I'm now taking the Interurban just a little further north to a shadowy little climb just south of 200th...
And then down 195th to a pedestrian bridge across I-5...
Down 10th, and I'm near the top of Perkins.

Thanks. Freddie Grubb. (I know what you mean. I wish everyone at the Forum would write in bold. It would help).

Mt Tabor racing series started last night for the 70th year, one of my favorite places, fantastic venue, free hot dogs, fries and soda.
Plenty of like minded folk, several notable C+V, great racing and this fantastic surprise.
I took the Strawberry to do my C+V duty.
There was more but I'm flailing to get it here from my phone.

June is bringing in the first hint of summer weather after the longest stretch of beautiful spring weather I can remember around here. Still not bad but warm enough for me to head up to the mountain for some cooler temps. I did a skateboard park ride, meaning I started at the bottom of the bowl, 2000 ft elevation, rode south and uphill on the Blue Ridge Parkway to the Raven Roost summit, 3300 feet, then rode back downhill, stopping at my car to replace my water bottle and continued north on to Skyline Drive in Shenandoah NP up to McCormick Gap at 2600 ft. 30 miles, 3000 ft climbing all told. You can see clear skies overhead but summertime haze brewing down lower in the pics.
The little “hump” in the distance is Humpback Rock. It’s featured in a lot of tourism promo photos for Virginia. Near 360 degree view of Shenandoah and Rockfish Valleys.
Ravens Roost, looking NW at Shenandoah Valley
Roosting a little myself.

My wife and I rode our bikes to the Bicycle Museum of America today. The museum is located next to the Miami and Erie Canal, so part of the ride was on the old tow path.

We all know marriage is hard especially when our our wives drag us along to work conferences and leave us to bike ride all day. Oh how I suffered today. Hotel and food paid for and I have the day to do what I want till she's done working. I'm only posting this here since I did a shortened Brian Bayliss route this morning.

Sorry for my making BF members feel uncomfortable.
It is said clearly.
I should have read the forum rules more carefully.

After a business day from heck (let's say it involved a rather important sad sickly SSD), I needed saddle time, and when the Rusty Spoke gang mentioned First Friday, it sounded fine to me. Swung an old leg over the taped-up cruiser and set south on an unseasonably chilly 91 degree day for downtown.
Hangin' out with albrt and the gang on a nice Grand Avenue First Friday evening, fixing up bikes and finding stuff for future projects.
But I'll have to say that it looks like I'll be rather... tired... on the ride home.

I don't get around much especially in the young racing world.
I love to be reminded of the world outside of mine.

Camping, picture from inside my tent. Bikes are outside by a tree, and the neighbors turned on a bright light.
Mine is the tall one, you can kind of make out the Flite saddle and Zefel pump.
