I usually keep my cadence around 90, but I did a 1 minute interval up a steep hill this morning and kept my cadence up around 105 to 110. I liked it - guess that's why Chris Froome climbs like that.

I'd been 3W off a nice round number for a few months and smashed it by 40W recently. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to translate into sprint finish wins.

1x46min interval on the TT bike. power was alright. By far the longest interval I've done on that rig and it was good. I need to control my breathing more and figure out a way to keep my focus. Adderall is banned, right?

Crit Practice, did better than I thought. Earlier in the week, I was expecting to call it a season. I just may have something left in these legs. Time to throw out the depressing, self loath868y paragraph I wrote and start drinking raw eggs in the morning and chasing chickens.

Yesterday was a day off the bike. Today, I rode 62 miles at a decent clip on a route that took me through a northeast section of Rhode Island.

A few hours today, commuting and morning group ride. Bridged to the 4 man break with one other, but he and a break guy played chicken and drifted off the back. Caught a few minutes from the line, but felt strong today. 3rd personal best on the KOM climb, and felt the pace was pretty manageable until the final 1' attack. 3rd to the top, a couple seconds back.

Back into intensity training. Cyclocross is coming. VO2/Threshold criss-cross intervals last night. Had 4x8' planned, really ran out of steam 3/4 way through the third, did the 4th with a total NP at low threshold. I guess my fitness has declined a bit after a month of not training much (huh...). My targets were based on my early July numbers. That is, unrealistic. It'll come back, though.

First morning commute on CX bike (with road tires). Tried out SPD Pedals for the first time, which seem to be okay. Not sure how they'll do if I race cross though.

53 miles, 173 TSS. I had some allergy symptoms last night that kind of left me feeling a little drained today, tried to keep it <200w and firmly in z2 territory as much as I could,

My sprint numbers have improved substantially. At this rate, I'll soon be merely horrible, instead of absolutely abysmal.

I don't know if apprehensive is the word I would use, but I definitely have more "do I really want to do this" feeling before a 20min hillclimb or something when I'm solo. I guess that's apprehension, but not in a fear way, in a "this is going to hurt" way.

Apprehension is absolutely what I feel. Honestly, it's indistinguishable from a morning of being wheeled in on a gurney for surgery. I don't get that way before hard workouts generally or races at all.
