I don't know specifics of what goes for what price but do you all think this price is justified? Should I blow a chunk of saving on this for internet bragging rights? "Colnago Arabesque Groupset 30th Anniversary. All original. 1984".

Apparently they had some lugs left over and made more. There is one frameset, a 57, left out of the new run. 3929.95

For $16k US I'd want a nice bike AND an Alfa Romeo Milano in a matching color.

for a mere $10K, you can get a NOS bike, same color, size and group at Lakeside Cycles in Lake Oswego. I'll post pics in a bit.

I guess one could argue that is a collectors item made in small numbers, still a stupid price.

With this Arabesque I wonder what the seller thinks they have?

Cinelli Laser price tier.
folk can ask as much as they wish.
there was a nicely rechromed and repainted Cinelli SC with a 50th anniversary. Group, $12,750 at one point on CL.
headset was mangled by a mechanic with the wrong tools. Anguish.

Who needs savings? Buy this Colnago instead.
On the other hand ... I bought a used Porsche over 20 years ago for exactly $16k. I would have saved quite a bit over the next dozen years had I bought this bike instead.

Is this another story of "there's nothing quite so expensive as a cheap Porsche?"

Depending on the model at the least you could double your money right now if you were to sell it. 80's and 90's 911's are going for ludicrous money right now.

I should go up and see it. Too bad I have no bikes with Super Record. One kind of doesn't exist in that store if they don't... [says the man with much Dura-Ace] Bike Gallery (now a Trek store exclusively, no BG name out front) has been a good place. Nice guys last time I rolled in there.

Excellent choice! The most impressive piece of automotive engineering I ever owned. Or rather co-owned, as it was mrs non-fixie's daily driver for quite a few years. It fit me like a glove, and I drove it a lot, like on this trip to Corsica:

OK. back to the main program: overpriced Colnago bikes.
