This never gets old!

'73 Grand Jubilee that I rode X Country in '76. Some mods here and there. Six speed fw, Super Champion rims with Avocet (Omfega) hubs, TTT stem, Suntour bar ends and my fav...MaFac cantilevers! Campy dropouts , Stronglight 49 D crank & headset, Pivo bars (original) and a blast to ride.

I must confess that my pics are from 2008 when I came back to riding again after 30 years. I bought the tires from a suggestion from a friend and they worked well but clash with the color of the frame. I was never happy about the looks. Before I was able to change them, I hit a car that did a left hook on me. The parts still are with me as I can't let them go. Here are a few more pics.

And a final one since BB are never looked at:

Man. That is just too cool, SJX. Blue bikes generally don't do much for me. But that one is an exception!

Ow... Such a bummer to lose that bike, SJX, but fortunately you're here to tell the tale.

Did the fork get bent? I don't mean to be an ambulance chaser but a correct fork for mine would be the needle in the haystack that I've been hunting for a long time.

What's up with the fork. I have not seen one with a black fork. The 49D is likely my favorite crank appearance-wise.

Beauty, Auchen. But your saddle angle makes my butt hurt just looking at it. I know, I know… whatever feels right, do it.

I got the bike really cheap with an all chromed replacement fork, so I just painted it black leaving the socks and adding a gold accent at the transition. Only the real cognoscenti (like you) know it isn't "right" - but now I actually prefer the black to the stock color.

What long arm derailleur is that? My Jubilee D (original ) is short arm. I like the black front fork though chrome looks sweet too.

@auchencrow, yes and I replaced the bike with an '83 Colnago Superissimo, which I enjoy riding even more. Still with I had the LC to use. @rootboy, The paint is different than most blues. Looks like a candy blue. One of the reasons I can't trash the frame and fork!

This thread is making me reconsider a new priority list! I would like to find a replacement of the same year and add a GR to the stable, love the black and red. The Orange looks great too! They all look very tasteful and elegant.

Thanks Jseis-
That long cage rear derailleur is the touring version of the Huret, Jubile 2248, new for '74.

Not the nicest but one of the last built by the French factory

This 1986 NOS MOTOBECANE has all its originals components , it is a very light 10 speed built with 2040 tubes , these bicycles was sold under the name " RESEAU M"
