Cool video. I had to do one of those repairs road-side once. I was on a tour and dropped the chain and it got wrapped around the freewheel the wrong way and bent the derailer cage and hanger. This was long before cellphones and I was miles from any town, so my road-side derailer hanger tool was this...
I'm sure alignment is not perfect, but I finished the tour as planned and got a new rear derailer once I got home and it seems to shift just fine.
