Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What a Sprint I Have 146.1 MPH

That was my maximum speed according to my Garmin 310 XT. I am sending it in for repair.

It's do-able...do you have GUADS? Did you dial it up to 400W? Was it downhill or out of a plane?

Elevation change over 30 miles was 197 feet. So very little down hill here in Flat FL

Slightly related, I was waiting at a stoplight and current speed was fluctuating all over the place, 8, 32, 14, 47... it was just spitting out random numbers while I was at a complete stop. I can only assume that the magnets and junk they put under the asphalt at intersections to signal the lights were messing with my cyclometer. Maybe the same thing happened to you?

I hit 68mph while I was stopped waiting for the light to change so, yeah, that's totally possible.

A GPS glitch once and a while does not mean the unit necessarily needs to be repaired.

My fastest speed was 99.9km/h. Next time I'm gonna get a computer that doesn't get disrupted so easily.

When I first got the Forerunner 310Xt, it would shut off at random. And not come back on unless I hard reset it. Which = lost all info.

Called Garmin and they were great. I sent it back and they sent me a brand new one in return. No questions asked.

Or you could just worry less about what your maximum speed is?

That happens in the car from time to time, loose signal for a few seconds and show up at a different location and the gps thinks you were going really fast.

I once had something similar happen (Cateye Micro Wireless) when I had my phone in close proximity to my cyclocomputer. Perhaps this is what happened to you?

Mine screws up my max speed. I get one number when on the bike and another when I hook it up to the PC.
