Furthest Distance Ridden to date today
Today I rode with Team Long Beach on one of their AIDS Lifecycle training rides.
https://connect.garmin.com/activity/239914217
https://app.strava.com/activities/26865842
It was my longest ride to date. I truly do intend to do the AIDS ride in honor of my brother who I lost in 2006.
Met some wonderful people too. Winning!!!
And according to Strava I got 15 "trophies" ... either top Personal Performance or actually getting in top 3 of women on various segments. I had a good day on the bike.
Plus I ran into a BF rider who RECOGNIZED ME! What a cool thing to have happen. Had a wonderful chat for the last portion of my ride on SGRT. The company was welcomed and enjoyed.

Hey, you rode on my stinking MUP! I saw you got 6th place on "Over Five Points" and got excited... I'm in fifth. I was in first for about 2 hours until the skinny guys figured it out and bumped me.
How was riding on Chapman? I can't honestly say I enjoy that road from about the 57 west, but I'm not sure what happens to it when you pass Harbor. You rode right by Fullerton College, which is where I ride (a lot) when my son is at diving practice.
Nice ride!

Awesome! All the climbing you've been doing probably makes these longer yet much flatter rides a cinch for you.
Great job! I feel a century is soon to follow.

Chapman was fine. Not sure what street but there was one (it might have been Chapman) that was a bit rough surface and one of my fellow riders had her light come apart from all the vibration and she had to stop and pick all the pieces up.
Will have to check out that "Over Five Points" segment you mentioned. I honestly have no idea what ones I did well on. I just saw I got a ton of "trophies". I am 6th among WOMEN not overall. You are 5th overall. I was not going all that fast.

He seemed to want to keep his BF name a mystery. So I will honor that. You know him Beanz and he commented on your blog "Hey I know that rider" on one of the GMR rides that I wore my "3 Feet Please" jersey. He saw me on his commute.

I am not yet signed up for the AIDS LifeCycle ride but I intend to be as soon as I have the funds to pay the entry fee. I did not know that this was a "training" ride til I got there. They use meetup to announce rides and I joined the meetup.

Enjoyed the ride very much and thought of you as I figured we were in your area and I might be riding on segments you do.

I like routes like that one you rode - more of a circle than point to point and back.
What was going on between Del Amo and Carson street, is that the wrong side of the bike path shortcut you take to avoid surface streets for that one block? It looks like you're still blocked at Artesia going south... *sigh*

Yeah, the roads can be rough... I made the mistake of taking Harbor (which is a great road to ride on UNTIL Imperial) past Imperial one time, to Lambert, and I'm shocked that I have all my fillings. I've never seen so many of those little tar snakes on one stretch of road.

Hahaha! I know him! He's a funny crazy silly guy but a cool dude and great personality, very friendly dude! He threw me for a loop first time. I thought he was a snob but once we started talking, he was blast to talk with. Make you laugh all day long ha ha!

Nice ride! It still amazes me at the kind of range one can get self powered.

Yes...he was VERY friendly and funny. It was a cool moment for me tho to be "recognized"! The guy I was riding with is just now getting into cycling and the BF guy chatted him up too and was very encouraging to both of us.

Kudo'ed you on Strava. My longest is still just over 50, and I did it again last Saturday. 5 PR's; I know the feeling
