Seven pages. Harumph! And I still don't care what motorists think of me breaking the law on my bicycle.

Seeing as how you have given up road riding because "motorists hate us" I sure hope you don't give up showers for fear of falling.

That was a quote from someone else directed at me...

It was a warm day and I made it over most every hill and overpass without stopping and walking up. It was a warm day and the only person on the sidewalks was another cyclist on the underpass walkway. Domino's had a scratch-off game on their flyer and I went across town and got my free Parmesan bread bites which was great with two days until I can grocery shop.

I haven't been over the interstate on my bike in a while, not even to shop at Kmart, so I enjoyed the ride. Wednesday there is a 60 year old plastic table radio waiting for me and a used widescreen computer monitor and the Mexican and Greek-Italian restaurants await me this week for my monthly diet screwup to stay happy and sane.

The difference is that motorists can think and poorly rationalize some stupid reason for hitting a cyclist... water just falls.

Comparing a thinking animate object with non thinking inanimate object, eh?

Motorists are thinking animate objects? With 2.4 million annual injuries to their credit, you sure could have fooled me. Water falls, motorists fail. It's all the same.

2.4 million is a Saganesque number, one that would suggest Mittygation is necessary. If I've told you 1,000 times to avoid exaggeration...

This pair, I'd like to see the local university and high school address; I see a lot of crappy single speed cruisers in the middle third of a 30mph feeder street, (not consistently on either side, just in the middle third) going 4-6mph. It seems to be a mix of HS and college age riders, though the college age cruisers are more likely to be full-on salmon.
Since the college went to a bikeshare program with mostly hybrids, there's been a bit of improvement on that side; the cruisers get used for intracampus rides, and the share hybrids make for much faster, easier trips off campus, but I still occasionally end up hugging the gutter to get past a couple of barely-over-walking-speed BSOs wobbling all over both sides of the street.
