My newest and probably my Eroica California ride, 1982 Medici Pro Strada. I rotate my bikes a lot so it is now in rotation of the others. I like steel bikes because of the ride and vintage racers feel comfortable to my long legs and short torso. At 65 , I still ride the first racer I bought when I was 22 !

There's a peg on the left side about 18" high. Give it a push and step up onto the seat. Experience riding a fixed gear helps a ton cause obviously it's direct pedal. Learning to emphasize your pedal stroke on the down push also helps so you are not rocking the steering back and forth with the pedals. There is no brake so stopping is the trick and stepping back onto the peg when it's going slow enough to run with. It's a blast to ride though.

The bike is built by Budnitz. They are in the New England area. The fork I had made by Oddity Cycles as something to go with the twin top tube design of the bike. It turned out a little wider than I would have preferred but still goes well (imo).

That bike is 2 years old, I am 72. At my age I get what I want because there isn't going to be that much more time to do so. I had it custom made by Cinelli and fitted it with the Campy Super Record group.

If you want a bike like that, or a custom whatever you want bike, look at Cicli Barco. They are making me a custom XCr bike with a stainless fork that has a carbon shaft. It is almost finished. Gianluca Barco is very responsive to emails and their prices are very reasonable. They are also able to put together complete bikes for you at good prices. My XCr will have Campy SR 12 x 2 group with direct mount brakes and a lot of carbon stuff from WR Compositi, an Italian carbon fiber maker who makes seat posts, stems, handlebars, bike frames and wheels in addition to making some parts for Ferrari and Lamborghini. The prices you will pay are without VAT.
My new stainless steel frame is almost finished.

I’ll be 62 yo in April. I’ve had 5 shoulder surgeries, I’ve fractured my back and have broken many, many other bones. My shoulders and back just couldn’t take the stress any longer so I sold my Specialized road bike and my 22 year old Specialized Y frame MTB and bought a 2020 Giant Cypress DX comfort bike. For me, it was the right move.

I have just bought this used Genesis Datum carbon frame gravel bike. It needed a bit of work, but nothing much. I have been for a few rides on it and am pleased as punch with the ride. It's every bit as comfortable as my steel Genesis Equilibrium and the 32mm tyres make the harshest roads and forest trails that bit easier.

Yep, that's one of the main reasons for getting this - had a Trek T2000 strickly road tandem previously. Got increasingly uncomfortable being on the road with careless drivers and less concerned with hammering and going fast. The appeal of "gravel" riding was a big draw.

Took it out today in fact on a converted rail line. It was really, surprisingly powdery and would have swallowed up anything with thinner tires but we powered through. Fun!
