Favorite seat stay mounted blinky?
Starting to do more evening rides and my stoker’s seat is too low to fit a blinky on the seat post under the bag. It also doesn’t fit the seat stays, so which model do you think I should get?

Planet Bike Superflash has a very narrow beam and needs very careful aiming. On a straight road, that is what I like.

If I am on a winding up and down road, the Planet Bike Superflash 65 has a very wide beam and cars would see you at wider angles instead of straight behind.

I prefer AAA battery lights, but if you prefer USB charging lights then you won't want the above. I use rechargeable AAA batteries, but if I had to stop at a store to buy AAA disposables to ride somewhere, I could with AAA. I carry both of the above lights on bike tours. In fog or overcast I use both.

Cateye Rapid X3 (or other Rapid X-series) light?
Though for certain seat stay shapes, might require the sharp aero rubber base accessory.
You can see it attached to my bike here (though mine's a Rapid X2).

Cygolite Hotrod.
I've used the outstanding Cygolite Hotshot clip-on taillights for a few years, very satisfied. So last summer I grabbed the lighter, narrower Hotrod for my carbon fiber bike seat stay. Works great. If anything the single button control is even better than the Hotshot.

Dinotte quad red, https://store.dinottelighting.com/mo...tery-p111.aspx
it comes with a bunch of mounts, including for seat stays. Expensive, but it could help save your life.

I have the model Dinotte made before the Quad Red, the "300R". It is *extremely* bright. So much so that I have it pointed slightly down, and generally run it on a lower-than-full-intensity setting.
The assortment of mounting brackets allows mounting on virtually any seatpost, chainstay or seatstay. The only place I can't mount the light with the supplied brackets is the back end of a rack.

I got a pair of these and don't like them because they're not nearly as bright as others I use, and I don't think their brightness is sufficient.

When I used to commute, I used a cobbled together plastic mount for mounting a cygolite hotshot way down low on the seat stay and then the same light on the back of the seatpost (2 lights). For riding in the dark, I set the low light to an annoying flash mode to call attention to my self, and set the higher light to steady on, this is to give motorists a way to estimate the distance and rate of closure etc. ( I read somewhere that with a flashing light, motorists cannot determine distances). this strategy works only if the lights are separated by a certain minimum distance (I think 1.5 feet). any less and the lights merge into one visually.
Also, studies have shown that the up and down movement of your feet has some special power to be noticed because we are programmed to see biological movements. I have been playing with a way to get light on each of me heels to take advantage this. if I ever start riding in the dark again, I will play with this,
