Another UO-8 with random parts trying to be passed as a PX-10. The "all aluminum", XL-XXL (on a 53-54cm) 15 speed is a bonus.......

^^^^ More bonuses "15 speed" and "59 cm". It's kinda disappointing they spelled "Peugeot" correctly.

Calling a Plain Jane UO-8 a PX-10 is bad enough. As I was looking over the picture, I thought it was a workable bike. Then I noticed the top tube.

Has this been crashed? It looks like it to me.

5 x 2 = 15 ??

I have to also say that they did a good job on the picture with a clean background. But unfortunately, this is covering up a load of deceit.

Looking at the left side picture the top tube look straight so maybe the cable housing is throwing me a curve?

C'mon people, get your heads out of your a$$e$!

Rules to post by:

-Don't call yourself or anyone around you a bicycle mechanic if you aren't one! (Auto mechanics typically know nothing about bikes!)

-A used bicycle is always worth less than the price it was purchased for new!

-Please stop posting bikes that have rusted chains or worn frames as new or never ridden bicycles. (Glastonbury, that is for you!)

-A bicycle that originated in a box store is never worth more than $100! Typically way less, even if it looks like it never hit the road. This is reality.

-Just because it is a name brand bike, doesn't mean that is worth money! A Trek 830 that is 25 years old, worn seat, bad cables, rusted chain, and dry rotted tires is definitely not a $300 bike.

-If you do buy a beat up bicycle with the intent to make some money, put some time and effort, as well as some parts into it. Don't buy a 21 year old K2 Razorback for $95 bucks and post it the same day for 3 times that unless you have put in the work to make it a decent bike for someone to ride. It probably needs cables, seat, chain work, and seals and service on shocks. There is a profit to be made, but don't be a ****** and just list it with a stock photo and it's original specs!

-A used bike is a used bike! Stop telling people that you are selling a brand new "demo" bike. It's dishonest, a straight up lie.

-If you need help valuing a bicycle, check "bicyclebluebook.com" , you will at least get a sense of what it is worth. If the bike is really nice, often you can fairly ask for more than it's valuation, but, a 30 year old mountain bike that retailed for $2000 new, will never be worth more than $400 today, even if it is perfect. (Some exceptions, Homegrown, Moots, Fat Chance, etc)

-Selling a bike that you are not qualified to evaluate for safety as "perfect, needs nothing" to someone that is buying it for a kid to ride is wrong and makes you a bad person.

Please pay attention to these things as they are important. Craigslist is infested with jerks trying to price gouge and dupe trusting folks who just want to go for a bike ride. If you wouldn't pay what you are asking or if you would be upset if one of your children got tricked into buying a crappy bike then maybe you should reevaluate your priorities.

Those who are ripping people off will flag this post, but, I am happy to k on that there won't be enough of you to take it down. Only you won't see it, but everyone else will.
Holy cow, you managed to include every single bike posting on my local minneapolis craigslist. 99% of all listed bikes are posted at approximately MSRP, regardless of age. 2000 trek 830? Certainly a $600 bike still.

An $800 Peugeot UO-8

on Tucson Craigslist at: https://tucson.craigslist.org/bik/d/...341566125.html

This was first listed as a "Peugeot PX-10" at the same $800 price. Now the description has been corrected. :-)

Delaware Craigslist

  1. I highly doubt Lance rode (or wrote) his first Tour de France by age 7
  2. I'm also pretty sure nobody riding the TdF ever used a bike like this,

I think the link disappeared before I got a chance to post this - we may have missed our chance.

wrong model (ST 400 touring bike)
wrong components (but maybe it’s a black lightning because of the smattering of gold components &#128513
questionable installation of components - check out front derailleur
on the positive side, the price has come down from the original listing of $3000 to a much more reasonable $850. Bargain!

I'm sure that Phil hub justifies the overpriced replica ordinary. And does the seller mean an actual Phil rear hub or a Phil front hub on the non-drive rear (which seems more likely)?

What can I say except that this seller just presents as disturbed?

"I disassembled it to put a 27.5 inch tire on the front and still have the 26.5 inch in the back since i fixed it but im not sure, but does has two old tires that still work have a good few months left of rubber on the tires."

Oh, yes I'm sure seller would do a great job building it up for you for $10

This bike is a ancient artifact pretty much. It's barely amy rust, it still switches to the 2 gears and 5 different speeds. Very fast, Oldschool, good looking crusier that only needs a paint job. I disassembled it to put a 27.5 inch tire on the front and still have the 26.5 inch in the back since i fixed it but im not sure, but does has two old tires that still work have a good few months left of rubber on the tires. Rims great, fender great. Everything is there. $200 or more oldschool bike for only $50 includes everything!! $60 for me to put it together because im busy working on motorbikes, antique bikes and cars.

Wow! I didn't even know replica Boneshakers were a thing. An interesting and (I'm guessing) tiny niche of C&V.

Apparently someone told the seller that his PX title was BS, so he changes it but leaves it in the description......then sends me a personal offer "reduced" to $500,,,,,,LOL!

If there was any question to the Dbaggery, he's still calling a small-medium UO8 an all aluminum 59cm XL-XXL 15 speed PX10 and says he's a bike shop. Nobody here would fall for it but sadly someone else might.

And agree with the poster above that the top tube looks bent

They were a thing during a certain decade, back when you could buy a Huffy Aero Wind new, along with the Zeus Airless tires to put on it. Don't know how long they were actually in production, maybe a ten years or so. I knew a guy locally who had one as his "loaner" bike for novices. His personal ride was a perfect Columbia (or something) from the 1890s, and he rode in period clothing. Bike people are crazy.

Not as crazy as some but.....

.....as soon as I see, "I know what I got"..... To be fair, in the closeups he took it's in reasonably good condition and assuming the tires hold air appears to be rideable as shown. An afternoon on the stand, some good tunes, a couple adult beverages and it would shape up very nicely. Not my size and too "modern" but I'm going to keep an eye on it, in a few weeks he may come down to earth.
