Skinny-tire roadie parts purge
Having now firmly realized that I will never, never, never, never ever again ride skinny tire bikes, I have some parts that are languishing in my parts box that I will never use, and therefore can be put to good use for someone else.
Regarding pricing, I will admit that I actually have no real idea what these parts are actually worth in the real world, therefore if my prices seem high, just let me know; if my prices seem low, feel free to offer more.
Most of these parts are small, so shipping won’t be a big deal. It’ll be factored into the price, with the exception of the wheel set listed below.

Brake calipers and levers
SunTour Sprint - $30 calipers, $25 levers, $50 for the set - SOLD
This is the first really good set of brakes that I purchased for my first really good bike, back in 1987. I Purchased them new, installed them myself, and they’ve been on the old Nishiki ever since. Now that the Nishiki is riding 650B wheels and tires, there is no way this brake set will ever be used by me again.
The calipers are typical short reach single pivots, as were ubiquitous in the late 80s. they have the nice gray anodized finish the entire groupset wore back then. The washer between the arms has tiny ball bearings, which I always thought was a nice groovy little feature. They’re a bit dirty and grimy, sorry; I will try to clean them up a bit before shipping. There is also a bit of rust on some of the fittings. Included are the original pads and pad holders, which are obviously far too old to actually be used; further down is a set of Yokozuna pads that can be fitted.
The levers are shown here still mounted on the original bars from the original bike. They work well, but the original hoods dry rotted many years back, and I’ve replaced them with some generic Diacompe hoods that are a little bit too big. There is a bit of rash on the left lever. Obviously I will remove them from the bars, unless (by some chance) you’re interested in the bars as well!
Tektro dual-pivots - $20 - SOLD
I think these are Tektro. They look like Tektro. They don’t have any logo anywhere, and doesn’t Tektro OEM for several brands these days anyway? One of several brake sets I tried out on the Trek, so just barely used; still loads of life left. Not sure why the adjusters are two different types.....?
Mixed set of center-pulls - $12 apiece,$20 for the set Both SOLD
Front is a Shimano DuraAce, rear is a Universal Mod 61. Both nutted. Both fully functional. Pads on the Universal came off an old Weinmann; use them at your own discretion. Buy one or buy both!
Yokozuna pads - $10 or free with Sprint set or center-pull set - SOLD
I bought these from Riv years ago for my wife’s bike, which has seen limited use, so still lots of pad left. I would keep them, but the extra length means they extend under the fork legs a bit, which is fine if you have skinny tires, but they prevent the caliper opening up enough for a fat tire, and since I’m now officially a fat-tire guy, these need to go.

DiaCompe non-aero levers - $15 - SOLD
Beautiful, shiny, retro-cool. Work great. Have a bit of side-to-side play in the pivots; not sure why.
Campagnolo non-aero levers - $20 - SOLD
Came on the same donor bike as the Universal center-pull above. Super-cool, as you know. Currently wearing some generic replacement hoods, with the slot cut down the middle, so I could quick-remove the cable. One of them seems to have had the anodizing (??) worn through, no idea why. No side-to-side play in these.

Modolo Anatomic drop bars - $25
Purchased new by me in 1987, been on the Nishiki the whole time. A few marks from where my dad put some clip-on thingies on them. Comfy! My other pair is on the Nishiki now.(If you want them stem too, let me know, and I’ll leave it attached.) stem no longer available....
SunTour Symmetric shifters - $195 - just kidding - really $30
I’m a huge SunTour fan, and I really love these little guys, and am reluctant to sell them. But I don’t think I’ll ever use them. They have that clever cam-actuation that automatically trims the left lever as you move the right one. They also include the discreet clamp for frames without the special braze-on. These require a frame with cable routing above the bottom bracket.
Chainrings - $8 apiece, or free with purchase of $25 or more - CAMPAGNOLO SOLD
Sugino 50-tooth, 110bcd. Campagnolo 52-tooth, 144bcd. Both with typical signs of moderate to heavy use. The Campy has a few scratches as well. Still functional if you’re not precious about aesthetics.

SunTour Superbe Pro/Araya wheelset - $50 plus $20 shipping (Sorry) - SOLD
Purchased new by me back in 1987, yadda yadda yadda..... 700C, 36 double-butted spokes. Built by Wheelsmith if I recall. Definitely used but not abused. These are, I believe, the first generation of Superbe Pro sealed bearing hubs. The rear is 127mm OLD, set up for a seven-speed freewheel. The front is the normal 100mm. They’ve never been apart, so might need some fresh grease, but they’re still super-smooth. It’s possible the rear axle is very slightly bent, but it’s difficult to tell with the naked eye (at least with my naked eye). Contrary to the photos, I do have both original skewers, which have a bit of rust....
No idea what model of Araya rims, but they’re from the advent of the fascination with aerodynamics, so they have that aero profile, which is rather conservative by later standards. Currently wearing some rather new but rather cheap-and-therefore-horrible Kenda 700x28 tires, which actually measure out to a real 25mm (part of the horribleness I guess). Those awful tires are free with the purchase of the wheels, which means I will remove them and dump them if you want, although they would probably provide some protection from bumps in shipping.

PM sent on the DiaCompe levers. I need them to replace the Weinmann levers on a Raleigh Competition that has a broken pivot pin.

I'm guessing one of those top tube HB protectors you see on track bikes would work nicely if it is thick enough. (As used at actual velodromes and hipster fixies to keep the handlebars from slamming the TT paint. No cables to soften the swinging action.)

Wheelset and Tektros arrived
Gulfport MI to Canada by way of Miami (????) Seriously, that was the USPS routing.
Anyway congrats to ctmullins
Never seen wheels packed that secure! Double boxed. You could have danced on the box (and probably someone did...)
Anyway I believe they will not only work well they will also compliment my sons' soon-to-be-here Peloton.
THANK YOU AGAIN

Oh good! Glad to hear it! I’m always paranoid about mailing relatively fragile items to another country......
