Spouse and I and our bikes spent 5 days in Missouri a couple of weeks ago exploring parts of the Katy Trail. Not sure what is the norm for Fall color thereabouts but there wasn't much color altho leaves were starting to fall.. Not much color in Central Indiana at that time either - much more colorful here now.

Still fall, but beginning to look and feel like winter around Ann Arbor, Michigan. This is a pic of Ellsworth Rd stretching westward.

Why would anyone stop to take a picture of a bunch of leaves on the ground?

Because it is one of the biggest Big Leaf Maple leaves I've seen, and I raked up a lot of them

From a beautiful fall ride last weekend. This guy has literally hundreds of pumpkins in his field. I ride past here a lot and never saw that he was selling them. Curious as to why he grew them.

Went on a fun ride out to Point Reyes Station out on the Marin coast yesterday. Here's the only shot I took, got it on the way back going through a redwood grove.

Unlike most everywhere else, this area stays quite green this time of year.

The trail is in fairly good shape. The Hunterdon County (High Bridge to Califon) segment is fairly smooth for an unpaved trail. The Morris County segment is quite a bit rougher. There are two deep gouges across the trail between Califon and Long Valley. I scouted the trail on October 9, to check out possible Ida damage. I presume these gouges were cut by run-off from Ida. In October, there was no warning and I saw the first one just in time to skid to a stop. Probably severe wheel damage or worse if I had hit it at speed (which isn't all that fast for me). By the ride on November 6, cones had been put in each gouge.

Here's the photo album from our November 6 ride.

Central Mass Rail Trail. Great place. Top pic, I call that place "the frig". it's always a few degrees cooler there, feels great on summer days.
