I hope you don't mean the Murray bicycles produced in the 80s and 90s.

Or look at the CABE for older Murrays.

The Murray bikes are cheap and poor quality. The racing bikes that are Murray branded are made by Serrota, I think.

I had a Sears branded bike that was made by Murray that I built into a singlespeed and it was really heavy, the headset is not smooth at all, and the geometry looks like whoever designed it did not know anything about bike geometry. The handling is very weird.

Generally, throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s Murrays were known as Department Store Specials because they were sold by K-mart, Sears, Pennys and the like. They were made cheaply in order to be sold for under $100 and used generally low quality components. Many bike shops would not work on them because they could not guarantee their work. But they put a lot of people on bicycles and were an important part of the "bike boom" of this time period. They don't have much of a collector value.

I had a Murray Missile as a kid, got it for my birthday in 1963, so when I joined up it seemed like a good user name at the time. I'd been looking for another one for old times sake until I worked on one for a friend. I don't want one anymore, I will stick with the user name though.
