White Turbo Reissue?

I'm thinking about getting a new saddle for my Lager, I'm starting to get sick of the checkerboard pattern. Is the Selle Italia Turbo reissue available in white yet? I'm also up for any other white saddle alternatives.

I think velocult sells them in white.

The reissues suck, btw. I'd get a used or NOS of ebay or something.

How is the quality on the Soma saddle? I'm not going to destroy the thing, i only ride about 30 miles a week.

How so? I thought they were pretty much the same thing except they're made with fake leather?

The reissues are pretty much the same but with a synthetic cover (and perhaps more durable padding). A few sites have them listed but show none in stock. I just scored an original NOS leather one on eBay for 62 bucks a few weeks ago. It's beautiful.

There are two up there right now, ending soon:

kato - I need a black one too. Where did you see them?

I like my old Selle San Marco Rolls with white perforated leather and brass logo plates. Very comfy and looks great.

Thanks for the links Scrodzilla, I'll keep an eye on ebay for one. I'd still like to know if anyone has any experience with the Somas.

mmm. cost me 50 bucks, really nice synthetic material. tough and grippy, with the little taint cutout. really good rails construction etc. solid.

it got dirty real fast though.

I swear those soma saddles are the same as the generic velo/endzones saddles on ebay.

Could've got the non-rebadged Velo for 1/2 that.

Yeah, I saw that shell too. Hopefully it won't be too much of a big deal to cover!

kato - thanks. Gonna snag one from good ol' Nashbar!

The reissues suck because they're just not made with the same quality as the originals;

If you've seen one up close it looks and feels like a cheap plastic saddle. The silkscreening comes off after a week, and the construction isn't nearly as up to par, and to top it off, it's synthetic. The best part about the old Turbos was the durable leather top and the way they aged with time.

The new ones are just kind of....disposable.

Those Traitor saddles are made by Velo too. Basically the same as those other ones, but with a fancy quilted top. They do look cool though, especially in person.

The saddle on my bike now is made by Velo. It's a good quality saddle, but I just want one that looks better and is reasonably comfortable. It does get style points for having a bottle opener on the back, though.

The whole point of the turbo reissue to me is that the saddles are comfy as hell. Second favorite, behind the (also back in production!) wtb sst saddles.

A Unicanitor is a horrible wretched ass hatchet that I want nothing to do with.
