Addiction 2022.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

When they beat the Rams a couple weeks back they got stronger as the game went on and the Rams couldn't stop their run game. Then against Dallas they faded and started screwing up and were lucky to get the win

This game could have gone either way. Again, I think the 9ers were lucky. I'm not complaining, however..

Went for a pleasant hike today. slightly different weather from last week. Then I was swimming in lakes and rivers while hiking. Today was a lot cooler and I was wearing a raincoat and only saw the inside of a cloud. Still any day in the hills beats not hiking.

It’s really warming up. Time to bundle up and ride outside.

Our weather is crap. Falling temps and 20 mph winds. If not for Covid and traveling through Nashville and Atlanta, I'd be in Florida.

I tightened the belt on my Kickr a couple days ago and forgot to do a spin down. Next ride, I'm working hard and getting low watts, speed, etc. I finally gave up and did the spin down Wow. Huge difference.

One of my cycling friends bought a place in Sanibel Island a few months ago. I laughed at him then. I am not laughing now.

Not a lot of good riding in that area, though. I several friends with places on the Gulf coast and the riding is flat and restrictive.

He says that the island itself is good for riding. It’s flat, but he is a triathlete so it’s right up his alley for S/B/R.

We are deep in the mountains here. Steep, steep everywhere. Riding in town, on a hybrid, looks like fun. Out on the road though, is for younger folks than I

my wife’s sisters family all has covid now. Kids brought it home from school. Yesterday we drove all over the place trying to find a covid test for my wife. She wasn’t feeling well and she had been exposed to them before they knew. One place wanted to charge us 250 dollars. Seemed illegal so we drove on. Most of the urgent cares wanted us to schedule an appointment a week out, which seemed useless.

We bought a home kit for 25 bucks. She was negative.

Was it one or two tests? My buddy tested negative on his first then positive a day later.

We 8 at home test kits now. Got four from the school district and found some on the Bezos site.

Sold the Revolt yesterday. It was listed for 3 hours. I should have asked for more $$. I got 400 less than I paid for it a year ago.
