Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ah. That must have been entertaining. The Ibex guy was on the level and their clothing was fantastic. I bought two of their jackets, one off which got messed up in my hit and run, two years ago.

Honestly man I don't blame you for your views. The powers that be did a very good job of convincing people that this is the case. I hope you know that if you ever wake up and realize it's the government holding you hostage, not the unvaccinated, that we will accept you with open arms.
This makes no sense. It reflects nothing that I’ve said. You sound like my brother who didn’t finish high school, who is stoned 90% of the time, and believes the gubbermint is evil. I don’t buy or listen to his BS either.

In more pertinent news, while my wife still feels like ****, her second COVID test was negative. That explains why my Viagra trial did not yield the correct results.

I've finally ordered some important bits for the bike behind the beer, supposed to get here tomorrow!

Estimated deliveryFriday, January 14 by 9:00 P.M.
The crankset is actually BETTER than the one on the Ritchey. I THINK the BB is pretty good, too, but it's a sealed cartridge unit, so it's hard to tell. There's a set of low-mileage chainrings coming and the FD, and the special Dura Ace cable stops with the lever on the right/rear one.

I spent last evening flushing the STIs with WD40, then replacing the hoods with a pair of NOS hoods I bought a few years ago.

I won a cycling trip to Mallorca in 2001. It was marvelous.

I also won a 1964 Pontiac Catalina in… 1972. It was junk.

I know. How many quality posts have I offered here, only to have an unrelated, bad music video posted in return?

Terrible.

Yes, it'll be so nice to ride this bike with hoods finally. Although I'm starting to like the polish the levers are acquiring from riding hoodless.

taking the madone to the shop tomorrow. The whole bike is starting to creak. Provably just needs to be re torqued but I have two package deals for the trek store so I figured I might as well get a tune up and free clean. Has roughly 86 hours on it.

Also need to pick up some super links so I can take the chain off and properly clean it.
