I've started riding at the Ed Rudolph Velodrome in Northbrook, IL. My wife is a bit alarmed at the growing number of bikes in our house, so I christened this one Tribble. A UW Madison student was using it as a campus fixie so it came with a patina. Fun stuff, cheers!

KrispyK Could you please show a close-up and describe your pedal, strap solution? What's the size of the chainring? It looks big especially considering frame size.

1incpa What is the size of this Tiemeyer and how tall are you? I just picked up a medium track signature on a whim and am freaking out a little about sizing (6ft, run a 56 TT + 110/120 stem).

For track TT races you could still go with Large/56, but for sprint/high speed races, XL/58 - to get arms in horizontal position - and better directional stability considering modern steep bank small radius 250m tracks. That's the current state of art. Medium will be small for you. I'm 5'9 and race short ITT on 56 and sprint on 58 Fujis.

My local track is 250m. I am coming from a road racing background, so I figured I could fudge a cm or two on the TT with the stem. Does that logic not apply as well on the track?

You definitely want to size up for your track frame.

I ride a 56 road bike, but on the track, I fit on a 60-62.

It's not uncommon for people to start on a bike the same size as their road bike. I'm now on my third track frame in about 5 years. I've sized up with each frame.

I'm late to the party...
I'm 5'-10" and the bike has a top tube around 56cm. I'm running a 120mm stem.
I do mass start races, and the bike is pretty comfortable.
I agree that at 6' you'd probably fit better on a bigger frame.

How long do Pista Speeds last for you on San Diego? I've always been too paranoid about tire life to run anything more aggressive than a corsa speed outdoors.

I only ran those pista speeds for elite nationals. Otherwise about 2 months at San Diego.

Are you riding Tri's or is that stem and bars within 10cm of the UCI front axel? Looks overly long to me?

I'm coming back to racing after a two-year break (mostly road), but it is crazy the size of the chainrings some of the athletes are running at the Olympics...pretty badass.

Bike passed the in the UCI jig by a hair. I measured 9.9cm in front of the axle.

Here is my rig for next season. Basically my background is paradoxical as I was a crit specialist/climber; back in my road racing days I was a nice 155 lbs (6ft tall). I am now a more plump 175 lbs after taking some time away from the bike and more time in the gym (and beer)...ready to get on the track flex my measly 20 second power. *Don't make fun of the mismatched tires (it's bad...I know)...I'm trying to find a way to make this work from a secondhand set of wheels*
