Returning to bikes for the first time since my teens
Hello from the dreary English Midlands!
I used to be a very bike-happy kid who would ride my Raleigh Burner to school every day, and go on rides with my dad who has always been into taking long-distance rides. But when I finished school, I stopped riding for various reasons, and at this point it's been over 10 years since I owned a bike.
A couple of weeks ago, I came across a sorry-looking old bike which was destined for the scrap, and decided for whatever reason that I wanted to save it and fix it up, and hopefully end up with a useable bicycle out of it. I realised that I missed having a bicycle, missed riding. Even if I'm going to be very wobbly at first and am rather physically unfit, I'm excited to see where this old bike takes me!
So here I am, I guess!

Congrats. Nothing beats getting back on a bike after a long hiatus. I know, I've done it a couple of times now.
