Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Here is the Mount Wilson dome where Hubbel used to work. There are several domes and arrays on Mount Wilson. It's about a 45 mile ride from my door..

I drove myself (manual transmission) to the hospital with a broken toe once; wonder if I could do it with a knife in my head...

We just got done watching the Dodgers beat the Cubbies again, then tried to watch the D-backs on MLB.TV but it's blacked out, even though the game is in San Diego!

you can never watch the home team play via MLB.TV only out of market teams. The snakes are making the pirates look good which is hard to do.

Yep. No Diamondbacks OTA. Current OTA sports shows include one track and field event and two soccer games.

cold ride this afternoon. Started with short sleeves and a vest. Stopped at a petrol station after 60km to buy some hot "food" and put my arm warmers on. should have taken my long sleeved jacket. cut my planned extra loop out and just rode home. managed to end up with 76km ridden. maybe I'll get a metric done by the end of the year.

No ride - rear tire is dead flat and was never really seated since last week, I think (sealant leaking at the edge of the rim and had been dead flat at the start of yesterday’s ride too). Two separate shops have now not gotten the rear seated in a quick job, so we’ll be ordering a Bonty Flash pump and I’ll be practicing until it’s as easy as tubes.

Still yours. Realized last night that I don’t land in toledo til after midnight. Waking up at 330 and trying to ride 80 miles before working all night seemed like a bad idea. Might have been able to catch up to you if I saw this post.

Had 2 bees fly into my right ear this morning. Not sure how I didn’t get stung, but scared me silly regardless.

AG actually got a bee stuck behind her sunglasses which then stung her eyelid while riding. That was fun to pull out on the side of the road.

Of course she didn’t want us to go back early because she’s a pint-sized little terminator.

absolutely. I think that is what it is used for by most subscribers. If you are already in the market, buy the local TV package that includes the network that carries the games. At $125 per season its a bargain for the transplant.
