That's a real bummer. Great folks, great decals. this news inspired me to place an order for a set of decals for a frame I might not paint -- just in case. OP, you might consider changing your title to Velocals closing end on 2022.

I saw that yesterday. Now, I'm especially thankful that I bought a second set of decals for my '77 Nishiki for when I finally get around to getting it re-painted.

Thanks for posting. I need a decal set for a bike I will probably paint next year. I would normally wait until I'm sure of the timing of the project. Order going in today.

This is a loss which will be felt community-wide, I suspect. Perhaps a positive result will be more vintage frames retaining their original patina?

Well, that's too bad. I've always had excellent transactions with them, including having them create repro decals for my '74 Norman Fay. I wish them luck!

Had a cart order that I was considering for repainting a Peugeot, and a Torpado. Might have forgotten about it. Just put my order in, thanks for the post.

Damn, these guys always came through for me, even doing a few custom decals that no one else would probably want.
and unfortunately, they won't be around for when I want to take a Raleigh G.S. up to 11.

I'll remember how they kept me informed and made me feel valued even during their delays during the worst of COVID.

Oh crap! That's a big loss for the C&V community. Will there any another outfit like this? Will they sell their digitized patterns so somebody else could continue making these decals?

That's a pity, I'll echo the sentiment that they've always done great work for me. I've had a few decals come in sizes that clearly weren't even remotely close to the originals but I suppose it was probably the fault of whoever made the original commissions more than their own. For anyone who's at a loss where to go next, H. Lloyd decals in England is still running strong and also does excellent work. Since I mostly restore vintage British bikes I guess my future decals will all be that much more authentic, to the Nth degree...

This is a real blow to me also, I had a full set of decals for a Raleigh international in the cart, and now they are gone. And there are no Raleigh decals left on the website either. Grrrrr...

Like the closing of Vintage-Trek, is there anything that could be "salvaged" from Velocals, with their approval of course, before the graphics files or "whatnot" are lost? This thought may be more akin to spitting into the wind with proprietary issues involved but I would hate being in the same situation as Vintage-Trek thinking, "if we had only known about it earlier and could have done this!"

I was amazed they were in business at all, dealing with small volume, small cost, custom anything is a tough go.
Ordered something Pug and something Schwinn.
