There was another song, long before Spears appeared on the scene. The refrain was "If you see Kay, tell her I love her.." and if you still hadn't figured it out by the last verse, they sang the first 4 words of the refrain really quickly.

People have been trying to outsmart the censor long before I started at it.

Had to grab a quick lunch for the kiddos while out on errands. The Wendy's where we stopped had a 4 for $4 deal with a junior cheeseburger, nuggets, fries and a drink. When we stop for fast food, my son usually has a burger, my daughter usually has nuggets, fries are lightly consumed, if at all, and soft drinks are had sparingly, more in line with a treat than a beverage. IOW, the 4 for $4 was perfect for them (I'd already eaten).
When I ordered it, the obese cashier's response was, "three of them?"
The response of "no, just one," got me a look like I was the weirdo.

We had a cat, originally Mrs. GeneJockey's cat from before she was Mrs. GeneJockey, who seemed to disdain any affection from us. Bubby* was an indoor/outdoor cat, and people visiting our apartment would talk about this big white cat who was so friendly to them out in front of our place, but that fat bastard wouldn't give us the time of day.
*The 'u' in Bubby sounds like the 'oo' in 'book'.

Great dirt ride on Sunday with my oldest friend. We were good friends in elementary school, and our paths crossed again in the early '90s, while riding MTBs. We rode and raced together (MTB and road) for many years. Family life has taken us in different directions, and we don't see each other very often these days, but I'm always grateful for the opportunity to spend some time together, ride bikes, and catch up on what's happening in each other's lives. Sunday AM, I took the drive to his 'hood for an excellent ride up Sullivan Ridge to Dirt Mullholland, a loop on the Bent Arrow singletrack, and a descent down Sullivan Canyon.

We've been getting those looks a lot this trip. When out with MIL and BIL for communal-type meals - pizza, Indian, etc - each server has given us a, "that's it? Like, for the whole table?" when placing the order (despite being obese, my BIL, for whatever reason, eats fairly small portions when dining out... then he'll demolish all kinds of food at night
).

It had some significant maintenance issues when I got it, and needed replacement of both BB and headset, plus some other TLC. I'm still in the process of dialing in a few derails, but this machine is truly excellent. It deserves a better motor.

I had to drop off the car to have some brake break work done, so I've been waiting for a call from a local number (757 area code) to get an update. Phone rings, it's a 757, so I answer. Indian (subcontinent) woman asking for me or my wife, by name.
"What is this in reference to?"
"Your property on [redacted] Ave"
"No," and I hung up.
So, for those keeping score, they're calling my NYC phone number, from a spoofed VA/local number, about a Minneapolis property.

After a good long eight and a half hours of sleep, I've weed et for an hour, swung the machete for an hour, and, barring rain, will eat weeds again. Not without good long breaks brakes in between. And food in between also. Since my time in Belize, I am loathe to find a more pleasant task than swinging a machete. I have read that swinging a scythe was similarly pleasant.

Minnesota is just behind Montreal in the solar car race. I'm guessing MOV is multiple occupancy vehicle? The other class is SOV.

The rain didn't come and I ate more weeds and I'm tired. A good kind of tired. I even had a nap. In between the machete and the second round of weed eating. Today was a good day.
I am, however, too tired to take a shower before my dentist appt. . Gluing on a crown; no more. I will floss and brush my teeth.
