Today's ride
Making my first ride on the GAP (Great Allegheny Passage) trail. Heading from Cumberland, MD to Pittsburgh, PA. It's a stout pull out of Cumberland heading west, the wind didn't help, but met some nice folks already and stopped to shoot a few pictures. This is the first multi-day ride I've done in many years. If anyone else is doing this this ride, say hi if you see me.
Eric
Mile 0. 149 to go.
A beautiful overlook at Big Savage Tunnel.
My travel companion had to get the requisite age/milemarker photo. I'll be looking for mine tomorrow.

All I can say is that I'm so envious of you and others here that do those multi-day rides with such beautiful scenery to see. That was a large part of what I enjoyed when I flew for a living, looking out over all the world from up high. Same when I was sailing up and down the east coast and Gulf of Mexico, just the peaceful and impressive looking shorelines and other island scenery.
I guess I'll need to get some gumption and go do some of those rides.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the memories. You've picked a great time of year and a fine stretch of weather. I did that trip (Cumberland to Point State Park, RT) in 2019. Looks like you don't need it but, "good luck" anyway.

Beautiful scenery. I wish we had something like that here, but then your ground also turns white every year.
Keep posting pics. I am glad to see I am not yhe only bald fat guy on this board. Most seem to be disgustingly fit.

Day 3, trip completed. Beautiful trip the whole way. Interestingly enough, from the riders I saw, the "over 50" group easily outnumbered the youngins by at least 4 to 1, probably more.
