Thank you for the quick reply. Unfortunately, for me, removing the seal was the hardest part. I'm working with an UN71, and after an easy alu-ring (visible) there is another alu/plastic seal, which is covered in rubber. Bent it badly when removing.

I did that decades ago when I was using F.A.G. bottom brackets for off-roading and all-weather commuting ("sealed" they were not!). It works fine as long as the plastic clips hold together.
