Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You may want to verify this, but I there are "reports" that your old 11 speed crankset can work with a 12 speed chain.

Speaking of chains. My groupset came with an 11 speed shimano chain no quick link.

I don’t think I have any shimano 11 speed quick links, I have some KMC 9 speed quick links and some Sram 11 speed quick links. Any reason why I can use one of these quick links with the shimano chain?

The 9 will be noisy, and may bind.

Never mix SRAM and Shimano. Bad juju.

Current mix on the Allez:

Campagnolo Record RD and Ergos; Super Record FD
Sram cassette
KMC chain
Praxis chainrings

No problems

Use the SRAM. Should be fine.

My most recent jury duty round was for Federal court, for 2 weeks. Thankfully, I never had to show up.

I thought mine was broken till I read about the little white sticker. So I ordered one from Wahoo, which must have been sent via the slowest possible transport. Luckily, I found the old one on the floor, stickum side up, so I just reapplied it and it worked till the new one arrived. I waited till it flew off again, then applied the new one. But I wonder why they don't just paint the damn thing.

The Younger Boy got a summons for today, but he checked online and he's now excused for a year.

I have testified in court many more times than I've been called as a juror.

I can't think of anywhere in the DFW area that has those types of publicly accessible roads.
For me (and probably Big John), my rides in the dirt are National Forest lands or other publicly-accessible recreation areas. Despite being a giant metropolis, the Los Angeles area has quite a lot of options for MTB/gravel riding, hiking, etc. within easy reach. Big John and I are literally up against a pretty significant mountain range that is mostly National Forest.

We just got the photos from the wedding. I never realized I am such a dour old man. Seriously. My son and wife had big smiles walking down the aisle at the start of the ceremony. My daughter had a big smile as I walked her down. I, on the other hand, had no smile and looked like I was getting a prostate exam.

And, I was the one who should have been as happy as a lark since I no longer have to work to support my girl.

They likely rumble at night while you’re asleep, calling each other names, insults, throwing things, etc.

I reached F-it. Called the mechanic and told him to install the whole thing. Cut the periscope and rewrap the bars.
I’m in St. Louis and a bike shop by the hotel has the clamp I need. I hope 28.6 works.

They aren't in for her, yet. I'm fairly certain that Trek won't let her keep the new ones plus her Madone setup without paying for the Madone stuff.

I hope things get better for you soon, bam. There's some nasty non-COVID crap going around. I've had a lingering bit of congestion at the top of my lungs for well over a month, but it doesn't seem to be hampering my riding, nor did it get any better when I took some time off the bike. My wife has finally turned the corner on whatever our daughter gave her over Thanksgiving weekend, but is coughing heavily and regularly. Her illness has kept us from spending time with our newborn grandson.
