See, now, if you were crazy like some people I know (), you'd take a 700c fork and have @gugie rerake it this way and that (think Bates Diadrant fork) until the brake reach is right for 650c. What could possibly go wrong.

rhm,
Funny you should mention gugie, I reached out to him asking if the blades on a 700c fork could be adjusted to work properly with a 650c wheel and he said not worth the effort.
Thanks again for your response/offer.

Oh, you can talk him into it. After a while his curiosity gets the better of him. Don't ask me how I know this.

3ttt stem

They came on a lot of better quality Italian bikes from that era plus Raleigh Pro, Team Pro and RRA models, and Motobecane Le Champions.

Cinelli stems and the 2nd generation 3TTT Record stems were elegant but there's something about the mechanical sculptured look of those early 70's Record stems....

Chas, I keep switching back and forth between the picture of the 105 record stem posted in mega-parts and the one you have above, J’ai l’impression de pédaler dans la choucroute... I give up, is this what you're looking for?
Low memory? Now wtf?

Holy cr*p it finally worked.

Now, right one or not?

I psted this in the sales forum over here but figured I'd post here too.

I need a 68 x 116 spindle, preferably of the 600 AX variety, for the Motobecane GR I'm overhauling for myself right now. French thread cups, so it's easier just to swap spindle. Will trade for anything you can think of that's roughly the same value and I have. I have some really bizarre stuff.

MTB forks rigid 1 inchers

Derp! Found one in my own junk. Anyone got a cool steel stem about 110 with a lot of rise, 1" threadless? Who's got all the 1" rigid mountain bike forks? I know one guy out there has like 30 in his garage. That's how this works! :-) I need a nice one for an early 90's Mountain Goat I picked up. I'd like to go threadless so at least 7" of untreaded steerer. Preferably a Tange as it's Prestige tubes. Lemme know!

Oui! Parfait, c'est ce que je recherche.... (Yes! Perfect, that's what I'm looking for)

Your stem is the second version Record with a hex socket bolt in the front to clamp the bars.

The first version of these Record stems had a flat head bolt with a hex nut in the rear.

Either style works for me.

BTW, early Cinelli 1a stems were the same way as 3TTT stems.

What width is the bar? If it's 42cm or 43cm, I'd be interested in it too.

Well Jason, guess what I just found, while looking for a bunch of misplaced other things...

Found it in my box of BB's. You're welcome to it. As I have absolutely no idea where it came from, I can't need it too badly, right?🤦

Sorry, the bar is 40 cm, to the outer edges. I can check my other bars, if you're interested, I definitely have some older bars, not sure of the widths though... GB, something else too, keeping the older Cinelli, though.

3TTT Record Stem - No Bars FOUND

FOUND 3 STEMS STEMS

Are you willing to part with the stem? If so, how much, and how do you want to handle payment?

As far as bars go, I have those coming out of my ears too. 38cm & 40cm 3TTT and Cinelli bars are the most common widths but I like wider ones. I'm always looking for 42cm, 43cm and 44cm 3TTT bars.

Working my way through the bright spots and strange aspects of C record era Campy parts...

I bought an Athena RD and then realized the notched stop ring is missing.

It's mentioned as an interesting albeit fragile part on Retrogrouch:

The Retrogrouch: An Old Overlooked Gem From Campagnolo

Anyone have one loose? Or have a beat up Athena RD with the part still in tact?

It's the same piece from this thread...which is not encouraging

Same part is used on Victory rear derailers too.

I might try drafting this thing in Autodesk Fusion 360 to see how much it'd cost to CNC a few of these in stainless. I still have an NOS Victory derailer here, so I should be able to get all the measurements.

That would be super, Kurt.

The part is around but close to $40 as NOS. I'd be in for one, or two actually, if you drafted it up and checked out the cost to make a batch.

I sold a box of very random parts towards in January to RobbieTunes . I swear that box had one or two of these in it.. I can't seem to find the original for sale post (weird?) so I can't look back over the pics to see what all was shipped.

3D printing these items is where it's at. Had good luck with that.

What kinds of resins are tough enough for this sort of thing? Reading stories of the metal OEM pieces sheering off.

Looking for brown brake housing. Light or dark colour okay but prefer lighter. Bike is non aero and has open cable along the top tube. Maybe approx. 5-6’ should be enough.

Thanks all!

They 3D print with metal also. Many layers of powdered metal, each sealed or "melted" to the layer below.

I have found stainless 3D prints to be quite rough and inaccurate from Shapeways; not worth the cost.

3D Hubs offers the CNCing, and from the few .STEP files I've tested, the pricing appears as if it may be more reasonable for a small part of accuracy like this.

Still, I think pulling off anything to be competitive with NOS pieces for $40 would be fairly difficult.

Specialized Touring pedals

I'm always open to add more Specialized touring pedals to the bikes in my stable. I've got some Specialized track, Phil Wood and pistafied Campy SL pedals to use as trade material. Depleting my bank account is also an option.
