I have several souvenir T-shirts and a cap from the Coors Classic bike races in the early and middle 80s. I also have several magazines that were sold at the races.

Almost forgot about a Tour Du Port (maybe Tour De Port) t-shirt from a bike ride thru the streets of Baltimore. Don't know exactly where the shirt is now, but it was before I was married, so it's at least 34 years old.

If that was for me, it's at least 34 yrs old-it's somewhere with a bunch of old t-shirts that I don't often wear. And yes, it would still fit--even tho I'm a senior, I've always been active, and am thin, as that is how our family runs, so I'm not much larger than I was in high school.

I've only been on one organized ride the past three years in a row (didn't this year because of Covid concerns) but never opted for the T-shirt.

Another resurrected Zombie thread. Yeah!

I have a MIELE bicycling jersey and MIELE bicycling shorts that I bought from Pedler Bicycles in Toronto, Canada circa 1985. Thanks to another forum member I also now have a pair of MIELE bicycling shoes. Amazingly the jersey and shorts still fit me.

Cheers

My race jersey from 1965 ...

...still fits, kinda sorta. I'm 71 now.

This jersey from Solvang Century 2000 fits better, and I actually wear it.

I have an Avocet polyester cycling jersey from the first year they were sold, mid-'80s, I think. It was one of the first jerseys to be marketed as 'wicking.' It hasn't fit since the early '90s, but with a little luck, I'll be wearing it next year.

I have my college jersey and bibs, including a long sleeve. Those are 2000 or 2001. Still fit perfectly.

I've got an Ironman Finisher jacket from 2002, pretty decent but my puppy (she's nearly 7 now) messed up the zipper but my mother in law says she can fix it. We've been talking about it for years...

I had some perfectly good but grubby stuff I tossed a while back that was even older.

The box of parts that came with my Spectrum had a jersey from the mid 80s in it. Just a crappy Nashbar nothing special.

I do have a goldline climbing rope from the 60s. It looks great as a decorative touch in the family room.

I've got 4 De Soto Sports jerseys from the 1990s. Made in the U.S. labels, 2 white, 1 dark blue, 1 brown. My best fitting jersey and always in the rotation.

Just last week threw away my very first jersey. It was a 38 year old Campagnolo jersey since my Bianchi was totally Campy - friction shifters. Later updated to Ergo. The jersey was almost see-through.

I've got an old Nashbar jersey from around 1987 or so. I'd still be wearing it but in spite of being in great condition after all these years, it seems to have shrunk...

Edit: Yeah the shrink fairies probably got to it, but also at age 40 my doctor started measuring me an inch taller than I'd been previously. So I'm going to mostly blame that.

Here’s my t-shirt from the 87 Davis Double, my first double attempted, and first double finished. Second pic shows the reg form and my reg confirmation returned by mail! The reg was $27, t-shirt was $8. Wish I had the route sheet and a pic of me in my riding gear w/bike...

I still have my 1977 racing jersey. Our club (Boston's NEBC) ordered custom fit jerseys through Jones Cycle Wear, a small outfit near Fitchburg, MA. We could get synthetic or wool. MOney was tight for this bike employee/raced, so I went synthetic. (Also dried much faster and took up less apartment space wet. Pocket held heavy stuff and jackets without stretching.)

I rode that jersey hard. That was a near 10,000 mile year, It fit very well. We were between sponsors that year so it is ad free, just the NEBC lettering and a panel design I really liked. Now it is faded a lot but everything still works almost like new (zippers, pockets. It has barely stretched.

I wear it occasionally, Not in the hot stuff; the new fabrics are far better. That was years before the fabrics we now take for granted. And I no longer see the cotton fishnet tees that worked so well under the old synthetic jerseys. Riding that jersey is a celebration of the year of my "high", when I was a 2nd year racer, third year of serious miles and hard, fit and fast. Also a celebration that 43 years later I can still wear it!

Got this windbreaker for serving as a volunteer marshal for the race during its Richmond leg.

I also have my Vermont Bicycle Touring leader's jersey and some tees from my '83 season there.

Nothing much to look at. Solid yellow jersey from 1987-ish. Still fits..
I bought it after Greg won TdF, so over 30years old, with lots of miles.

My 'old' wool jerseys get a 2nd life as pajama tops. Pleasant dreams!

edit: Actually, it fits a bit better since this pic was taken.

Somewhere, I have an old Campy jersey from the mid 80's, and no it doesn't fit. My oldest t shirt is a shirt from a summer wrestling camp I went to in 75.

1981 PHOENIX CYCLES - CARBONDALE IL wool Kucharik racing team jersey in my basement now. That was 39 years and about 50lbs ago. 145lbs then. 195lbs now.

However I DO keep improving. I find “the older I get the faster I was“.

It's a PSG T-shirt that is more than 20 years old... It may not be related directly to this topic, but forgive me. It's a really memorable T-shirt for me because I made my first steps in professional soccer wearing it. What memories do you have of your favorite T-shirt? Truthfully, I love online shopping. I think it's a far more enjoyable thing than real-life shopping. That waiting, that exciting moment when you finally receive the product you ordered I have found one outstanding online shop which was discussed on Twitter. Have you ever heard about this lovely shop for couples and families? I am checking it at the moment, and it's just fantastic!

I have a Pearl Izumi full-zip gentleman-sized three-pocket jersey I bought around 1986, just bright yellow with some grease stains. I still wear it. Also a corporate team MS150 jersey about 2002 — I trained with the team but was not available for the ride.

As I mentioned I have 2 or 3 T-shirts from the Coors Classic. I also have at least 4 years of the race magazines and and race maps. If you do too, hang on to them. I checked on what they are worth, and they are selling anywhere from $25 to $50 a piece. The value is bound to go up.
