Centurion Pro Tour 15 - $280 (Wayland)

A very nice vintage Centurion Pro Tour 15 touring bike from the early 1980's (1983-84?)

Bike is in great cosmetic and mechanical condition -- great components and a really smooth ride. Excellent for commuting, cruising, rail trails, and legitimate classic touring. Very nice paint, and the frame is fully chromed underneath the paint. I think the bike is pretty much, if not all, original except the bar tape.

Specs are:

Frame size = 54.5/55cm seat tube, 56cm top tube
Champion No. 2 butted tubing, lugged steel
Mid-fork braze-ons for front rack attachments
3 x 5 speeds
Suntour Symmetric shifters
Suntour Mountech front derailleur
Suntour Cyclone MK-II rear derailleur
Sugino AT cranks
ARX stem
Dia Compe cantilever brakes and Gran Compe brake levers
Sakae Custom handlebars
Sealed bearing hubs (very smooth)
Araya rims
San Marco Rolls saddle
SR Laprade fluted seat post

Cash and local pick-up only. If the ad is up it's still available - please don't respond just to ask. Respond in a way that lets me know you're human.

Raleigh Professional - Tall Frame - $600 (Norfolk)

Lightweight Raleigh Professional Bike with Carlton Race Proved frame. Campagnolo headset, crankset and derailleur. Stronglight crank.

I was told that this is a Professional when I bought it but bike does not have a sticker.

SN is A7310B found on bottom bracket. Since Raleigh does not have a great sn system I could not make heads nor tails out of this sn.

Wheels are Mavic and require glue on tires.

Seat is a leather Wrights Saddle Co. fron the UK.

Bike needs to be cleaned otherwise good shape.

I'll give him an E for effort but it never ceases to amaze me, 11 mostly useless pics, no brakes, bars, hubs, only one end of the measurements, etc.

Pretty crusty, looks to be straight, low end brakes, SP/clamp and RD.

I need one this size but not for that ask.

One of the nicer looking Nishiki's I've seen recently. Champion 2 tubes, Cyclone Mk2, and a beautiful drilled Sugino crank. Waaay too small for me though...

Rough shape with some surface rust, but a deal-and-a-half for this one- I think that price is less than what you'd get for those brake calipers.

The price isn't realistic IMO and it's a mish-mash of parts, etc., but it's also a really clean looking Appel in a good size.

Two Koga-Miyata's today:

A very rare 1992 Koga-Miyata RandonneurAlloy, size 57cm. - Marktplaats.nl - Bergen
Built up with a fun mishmash of parts (note the Gazelle spacer on the headset) and a hairline crack in the seat tube for €275. Still cool to see some better images of this bike. I think I now understand why there aren't that many for sale. Early aluminum.

And a 1993 Koga-Miyata WorldTraveller touring bike in size 57cm - Marktplaats.nl
"21-speed, hasn't been used in years. Needs some cleaning and doesn't need much work."
€130 asking price.

Same bike as the one I have in a 66cm size.

Speaking of unrealistic pricing, here's today's PDX fodder.

And while I realize these are rare, very nice and cool as heck I don't think they occupy this price range.

If somebody disagrees and has to have one, I would be happy to facilitate.

Charles Nighbor outed eBay listings for these two bikes on BOBishBikesFS earlier today. I sent a note to the seller of the above bike asking about the dimensions:

Effective Top Tube: 57cm
Top Tube: 58cm
Seat Tube: 60cm
Standover: 85cm
He calls it a 58cm frame in the CL listing. And what's with two different top tube dimensions on a bike with (I think) a level top tube? (That's what I asked about. Am awaiting a reply.)

Vintage 1987 hand made in Japan. Purchased new with very little use. All original except for tires and rear wheel. Shimano 600 components with index shifting. Top tube measures 34 inches from ground. I'm 6' tall and it fits perfectly. This bike may be the most pristine DX 5000 for sale anywhere. Always stored in temperature controlled environment. The pictures speak to the condition of this rare bike. You won't be disappointed!

OK, I doubt anyone here is looking for a 1978 Concord Pacer S/S, but this clean lugged steel bike has appeal, especially for the $50 ask.

That looks like a great deal if it’s intact. “Sold as is” would make me look even closer than usual. Take a good flashlight!
