the construction was effective and the metering of the tubes needed to be spot on, no simple notching allowed, but they did not have high perceived value, I think Peugeot was blind to the American market AMF and Huffy dept store bikes that preceded them in appearance.

Hi Hugo - it's great to hear from you! It's surprisingly difficult to find much information on your grandfather's bikes, given how many he must have built over his long career. Would it be possible to see photos of your father's Miosottis? More photos of my Miosotti are here:

It's a beautiful frame and rides very nicely!

Picked up my First Peugeot last week and I’m really happy with it, a 1983 PFN10.
I’m still learning the art of bike building so this bike will be refurbished part by part whilst furthering my understanding and confidence in “going alone”!

Rides well as is, but will benefit from an overhaul

Not loving the colour coordinated brake cabling

Love that the original “Bike Shop” sticker still exists

Gitane hosteller finally getting some love.

Had this one for awhile now, took it for a couple rides and took time pretty pictures. But I've recently felt the urge to give it a proper refresh. Then if I don't feel too attached after, I might give another try at selling it.

Next Project - Another Gitane Super Corsa

Here are 2 photos of the most recent project, acquired yesterday at an estate/garage sale listed on CL. The first photo is what I saw on the seller’s wall as soon as the garage wall was raised. Second photo is the bike on a stand in my backyard before tearing it down. Bought from original owner and reasonably well taken care of.
My motivation to buy and refurb this Gitane Suoer Corsa is to build up a nice bike for Dau # 3 who is on the border of learning to enjoy cycling and appreciating old French road bikes. Dau # 2 (don’t I sound like Charlie Chan?) fell in love with my Peugeot PBN10 last summer and is becoming a vintage road bike fan. My hope is that Dau # 3 gets jazzed about this Super Corsa and letting her pick out the bar tape and brake housing colours certainly helps. The bike is in pretty good shape with some small scratches and no signs of rust on frame, forks or chrome. Strangely, this is the second Suoer Corsa with all Campy components and drop-outs but MAFAC Competition brakes.
Will post more photos of the build-up and final if desired.

60 cm CTC and I also love the metallic blue as well. The sun fade has added a neat patina to this flamboyant color.

An earlier Super Corsa project was originally a metallic candy red but over time faded to a sunburnt orange that was really nice, too. Unfortunately, there was snaking rust under the downtube so it was repainted and returned to the candy red.

A fantastic size. Red would be amazing too. I have a white TdF, but color would be a lovely addition. Thanks for sharing.

Looks like a 1971. I've had a few of these, and they are my absolutely favorite riders.

Several years ago, I bought and refurbished a white, Canadian made Peugeot PB 12 Course. It was an outstandingly competent ride but I ended up selling it for reasons of space only to promptly regret it. I looked for another in the correct size and found one just over a year ago. It looked like this:

It now looks like this:

And no, I won't be selling it.

I wonder if that is the same model as my PFN-10. They both say "Course" on the TT. Here it is in commuter mode:

It is a nice, smooth ride. I was thinking about a 650B conversion, but then I found a Motobecane Grand Touring in my size, and that's the one I'll convert instead. This one got the 1x9 treatment for commuting in the city.

DQRider-

Yours is a French built Course and it would have had a Vitus 172 or 181 main frame with Peugeot 103 in the fork and stays. My Canadian built Course is all Peugeot 103 in the frame with a hi-tensile Tange fork. A year later, the Canadian bikes got Reynolds 501 main frames with 103 in the stays but with the same Tange fork as my bike. It is an amazingly smooth ride even on the 25 mm Michelins. They are truly bikes that deliver well beyond what would be expected from looking at a spec sheet.

Bizarrely, it now looks larger since you've rebuilt it. I can't recall 58 or 59cm??

It's still the same size at 60 cm C-T-T, the same as my Bertins. Oddly, they have shorter head tubes then the PB 12 by nearly 2 cm.
