Schwinn Volare
Picked up a "Schwinn Volare" and not sure if I want to keep it or put it up for sale here in "The Market Place". I have looked all over the net and have not found one for sale or one that has sold recently to get an idea of worth so hoping someone has that info here.
The bike seems to be in good condition mechanically. Cosmetically the paint has scrapes and such here and there and is good to fair. The decals are fair with some areas missing. The chrome and metal parts are very good and show well. Here are some photos to help with an appraisal. It is hard to see the scrapes and blemishes in the paint in the photos but they are there and I could post closer pics of them if needed.

Remove the rack and start at $650.
Don't let it go for less than $500. Seat has value on its own.
Color is very desirable, size might hold it back (a little).

You had me at chromed lugs. That is a nice find, and yes, it is large, but it should get some interest. It wasn't made for very long and I think I've only seen one other up for sale in the past. I think the prices mentioned above are possible.

Thanks for the replies. Question: Is a Schwinn World Voyageur worth more than a Volare ? Just wondered as on Ebay they are asking 750, 850 and up for a nice World Voyageur. One sold for 400 on the Bay but it was local pickup only.

Prices on ebay tend to be higher. The fees are significant and shipping a bike properly is a hassle. If you are thinking about selling on ebay adjust the advice above accordingly.

Thanks, yes but I was just wondering if the early World Voyageur was a more desirable model. I am not a fan of Ebay and joined here to sell it here. I have some cleaning to do on it first and air up those tires.
